I've just written a post about this in my blog (you'll find the blog in my profile) but I wanted to discuss it here too... Sorry if this turns into a rant and makes no sense - I'm kind of winging it here as I type but I've seen one too many sites where someone is offering something that can be found for free etc There's so many discussions on this site where people are asking how you can earn online, why those that do earn online won't share the "secret" on how they do it, or offering "free" reports that expose the secret tip that the 'gurus' don't want you to know about etc etc etc (I put free in brackets 'cause it never ends up being free :-) ) Well do you want to know the real secret to earning online? Sure you do It's being prepared to put in some time and effort and to have some patience. Now when I talk about earning online, I don't mean the cents a day etc you get through sites like this or other paid to action sites, I mean earning via programs such as adsense or clickbank etc. You really can earn a living or more through those programs but you have to take the time to build your business from the ground up - which means putting in the time to set it up properly and expending some effort building it so it ranks in the search engines and gets good traffic etc, then having the patience to wait for those affiliate sales, adsense payments etc to come in. Take adsense for example so many people think it's a waste of time 'cause you need to reach $100 before you get paid - yes that's true and yes to start with it could take upwards of a year to reach that payment threshold - but... Over time you will reach that threshold quicker and quicker until you're getting paid monthly and really if you have a site online with adsense etc on it - it's always going to be there, the ads will always be there (you don't have to do anything once it's initially set up) so even if you create a new post today - 2 years down the track someone may find that particular post and hey presto there's the adsense or affiliate product etc still there just waiting :-) I guess what I'm trying to say is there's no real secret to earning online - yes there's several different tips and techniques you can use to make the most of what you have - things like getting more traffic to your site or promoting certain products etc, but those tips are all freely available - heck I've been in countless discussions just here on mylot where I've offered a tonne of different tips etc. But the bottom line and real secret that I'm sharing for free is that you can earn online if you're prepared to work for it (time, effort and patience)

Some good, down to earth advice for which we must all thank you. As human beings, a lot of us tend to give up too soon, or because something isn't working as quickly as we think it should, we say it's a scam, or it doesn't really work. Instead of that negativity, we need to do our research and study so that we know the particular progam inside out - then we have the chance to work it to make a profit. Thank you so much for giving us another reminder. I'm going to read your blog now.

Hi, Thanks for your response. Yes I think too many people jump on the latest "thing" but don't actually take the time to read and understand what it's all about. Then all too often they end up calling a legitimate program a scam because they didn't take the time to read the guidelines and understand the dos and don'ts etc. While I vary rarely join new programs if on the odd occasion that I do decide something might be worth joining/paying for etc I make sure I take the time to really look into it first (check the terms, find the support area, see what other people are saying etc etc) and then make sure it's something suited to me, and finally make sure I take the time to work it properly. Like everything else, to get the most out of anything you need to be prepared to work it properly and stop looking for the shortcuts.
