What happened ? Did they bounce of the inside of your glasses?? I'm really curious to know...
I went through a bout of sneezing recently and i tell you i wish i could keep my nose, mouth and my eyes closed.
The next time i think i'll try to keep one oye open and sneeze, cause if one of them decides to goggle, i will still have the other one.

Hahaha....That's a good idea and pretty sensible of you! Sneezing bouts could be funny except for the spreading of the germs part. I want to stay distance apart.
BTW, how much does eye transplants cost?

It cant be true because there are people that havent got eyelids, I have had this discussion when I was studying healthy and social care and there is no substance in the claim. People cannot do it if they have eyelids no but that is because its a natural reaction to close them. People nwithout eyelids obviously cannot close their eyes, and theior eyeballs dont pop out when they sneeze. Good topic tho!!

That's a myth dear!
No way the eye ball pops out! We do it more out of reflex action just as we stat to laugh even before listening to a full joke, in apprehension of something funny. The same way we cannot tickle ourselves because we are in control and much of it comes from the suddenness!!

I never try to sneeze at first place. It happens by itself.I do not remember whether I close my eyes or not during sneezing. But I could see people around me with their hands covering their ears as if they are they are in an area of bombardment.I always look at them inquisitively to get a 'nothing at all nod' and see a relief in their eyes.

What would be more interesting to know is the aftermath of it!!

Hello mimpi. I have never noticed that, but I think that it is very natural that we usually close our eyes a little bit when we sneeze. I did not know that the eyeballs will goggle out. I think that this is not a nice picture to be taken while sneezing this way.

I am still deciding on it...
And you better not try that. It might be harmful. Why not cook some chocolate cakes for us friends?

Lol, yes I have heard that our eyes will pop out if we try to keep them open whilst sneezing!!! And I have to admit, I have actually tried to see if it is true - curiousity can be such a dangerous thing! I couldn't actually manage it to do it though, my eyes kept closing!!!

Mimpi!
I think it is not possible to keep our eyes open, when we sneeze, our eyes automatically get closed, when we sneeze. If we try to keep our eyes open, I think, either we cannot sneeze or we cannot keep our eyes wide open. Sneezing is a nature's phenomenon to let any foreign object come out of our nose.

Hi Mimpi.....Well I am under the impression that our eyes close automatically when we sneeze,to compensate for the fact that we have our mouth wide open during sneezing........Ans when ever I am about to sneeze I keep my eyes wide open inorder to hunt for my hanky in my handbag to cover my mouth when I sneeze, and invariably I close my eyes when I sneeze, relieved that I have not forgotten to take my hanky.......

that's a little challenging. we all can yawn and still keep our mouth closed...but speaking of sneezing some people do this over and over again. sounds cute for the first three times but i've heard of somebody who does this regularly for 7 times. don't know if it is an allergy or what but it's quite frightening if you count till 7. also some people sneeze with the sound that makes the usual sound of sneezing seem like they're trying to control their sneeze. not funny though. very abnormal if i may say. peace

mimpi1911 . .
I have never heard that my eyeball will goggle out or even tried sneezing with my eyes wide open . .because I always thought that when we sneeze our heart skips a beat . .and that is why we say ..
God bless you

It's a physical impossibility to sneeze with your eyes open! (Unless you have no eyelids or something) But then again, maybe they're just saying this so no one will try. Maybe sneezing with your eyes open causes a wormhole to open and we end up in another dimension or something? You said you just tried yourself, are you still here or are you mylotting from a parallel universe somewhere?

I think it is every person's natural habit and no one can control it.
As far as my personally experience is concerned I have tried it hard but never managed to succeed in it.
At the instance we are sneezing even if you try to open your eyes but at the last moment you will close it helplessly.
It is as if sleeping with eyes open which is also an helpless thing.

nope never......usually my eyes close just when i sense that i am about to sneeze......so it just happens in a fraction of second......
Well it is said that when you sneeze your heart stops for about some milliseconds and hence people say god bless you when someone sneezes......
have a nice day !!!!!
