We cut are dogs hair with a buzz cutter. We just had to go out and buy a new one. This saves a lot of money and he always looks good. Do you ever cut your dogs hair?

i have tried & being a hairdresser i know what to do but--- it didn't work. my dog is a cocker spaniel & has a real thick coat. the clippers i bought would not touch it. i just had her trimmed. maybe i will try it again before it gets so long & thick. it is very expensive to have it done. i'm sure u do save alot of money, good for u. have a happy weekend.

My dog that has extra hair is not well-behaved enough for this to work for me. My family and I just take her to a PetSmart shop and have them do it for us! Its really great because they also give her a bath and clip her nails, things we can never get her to do!

I haven't had a dog in many years but I did cut his hair with a pair of sizors, just around his butt where it would get all full of fecal matter.

I have two Apricot Poodles. I can groom my older one because she is calm, but I have to have the groomer do my younger one. Once she gets used to it I can then groom her also. Before I take her to the groomer I do cut her hair a bit and I have noticed she is starting to calm down a bit.

I don't cut my dog's hair myself. I take my dogs to the groomers to get their hair groomed. They need it again, and I will do it sometime this week, probably. I have a toenail clippers called pedi paws. I haven't used it yet on the dogs. I guess I am just scared to use it becuse I don't want to hurt them. I couldn't really give them haircuts either, as I would be afraid I wouldn't do it right and they would look worse than before i started lol. Well, have a great day, and happy mylotting.

My way of thinking is that a dog is meant to look like when it was born and the breed it is, I have 2 bearded collie cross dogs, they both look like bearded collies and have long hair etc..I never cut it 1) as that is not how they are meant to look and 2) the breed does not look like that. It is the same with dobermans and pincers their tails are docked more often than not..to me that is wrong a dog is born with a tail, it has a purpose..the tail can show how happy, sad, and all sorts of parts of their character, the other thing is if you cut their fur gets twice as thick. Please don't think that I am preaching to you but just giving my opinion about cutting dogs fur...LoLo

I have 2 cute puppies living and sleeping with me and my husband. One boy and one girl and they are just few months behind of age from the other. Shaggy have the shih-tzu poodle blood while princess is pure shih-tzu. They are both very cute and very playful too. When i first got shaggy boy , i didn't have any problem cutting some of his hair because after we give him a bath every other day ,then we brush his hair, he would look very very cute and he have his own fashion with his hair style near his eyes. His hair was really long and he look very handsome. But when we got another puppies, princess, they started to play a lot and it's part of their game to bite each other's hair. So since saliva is very sticky some of their hairs became very sticky too and twisted and everytime i wanna groom them both and brush their hair i can't brush most of the parts because it's all twisted and knotted. So i didn't have a choice but to buy an electric hair cutter to cut their hair because it is too costly if i'll bring them to the petshop. But i did discover something funny with shaggy after i cut some of his hair. He is so shy of himself that i cut some parts of his hair ,so he don't like to move ,walk or stand up anymore. That really leaves me another problem because actually i didn't make him bald but i had an idea already that he is a very sensitive puppy. I dont have problem with Princess but my only big problem is she can't see clearly because her hair in her eyes is quite long and she will fight so much with all she can so nobody can touch her head

my dog is kinda spoiled. every time i try to cut her hair she would be so unruly. but when i take her to the pet salon/ pet clinic, she's so quite and well-behaved. they say it's because she's scared of strangers and also because i pamper her too much.

We cut our pom princess' hair all the time. She has a double coat so it takes a little work, but it can be uncomfortable to them if it's not maintained. It's easy once you get the hang of hor it's supposed to look.

I usually bring my baby to the parlor every 2 months for proper grooming. Can't neglect it since my Yorkie has long hair.

I get my friend to come over who has a mobile dog salon, which is basically just a pimped out van, haha. She does everything for my dog, a manicure and all sorts! shes really good.. and my dog loves it :) she smells and looks fresh, we do this once every 2 months, it's great!
