Yes, I do wash vegetables before cooking them so that the medicines which were spread on them don't affect us. It is a must to wash every vegetable I believe before cooking. If not too much but atleast once or twice is required. I wash some of them before cutting and some before cooking.

I think everybody wash the vegetables before cooking it. Not unless you want to eat the soil particles on the veggies especially like potatoes. If you will not wash the ingredients before cooking it, the persons who will eat the food will surely experience food poisoning.

Yes, of course we need to wash our vegetables before cooking them. I always wash them even some of the vegetable I bought and pre washed already. I still want to wash them because I dont know how were they delivered. If somebody has drop them or not. We wouldnt know.

Yup, I often do, even those that are prepacked and ready for eating. I'm not very convinced about how clean they are; so wouldn't want to take the risk of eating mites or dirt.

Oh man... This is the worse thing ever. I always FORGET to wash them before I even do anything to them. I get so wound up in the fact that I must cook them or cut them, that I just forget to clean them... Until I taste the dirt on them, unless the dirt was cooked off! Hehe.

Absolutely, I grew up on a farm that did not use a lot of sprays, etc., but vegetables are handled by so many people before it comes to your hands. All you need is one person who has used the bathroom and not washed their hands (don't mean to be gross). The only exception I use is when I buy prepackaged items from a local company. I used to help my father deliver the vegetables to this factory and I know from first hand experience that all food goes through high-powered washers before being dried and packaged. No human hands touch the food once it enters the factory. I even peel things like cucumbers, etc. because of all the wax and pesticides that normal vegetables have been exposed to. I really prefer to use organic if I can or raise my own. This is not easy as I live in a place with very little land and a lot of shade. When all is said and done, vegetables and fruits are still a very important part of nutrition and it is well worth the extra care needed to have a good well-balanced diet.

We do. It is very important to wash them before cooking because despite benefits, there may still be some bacteria or harmful stuff on them during harvest, transportation, distribution, etc. It's better safe than sorry.

Before cooking? Always! Even if I didnt, they would get washed in the cooking process! Before eating? Not always. Sometimes I will pick my vegetables fresh and just eat them right away. This is really when they are best. And when you grow them yourself, you know exactly what they have been sprayed with. There is no worries about harmful chemicals or pesticides! YUM!
