How can i stop my father from smoking?

my father has asthma but he won't quit smoking. doctors say that his condition will only get worse if he won't stop but he just won't listen. we've tried to talk to him lots of times before but nothing worked.

Firstly force him to go for jogging. then give them food and healthy food. like milk, bread butter, and share some tension of him. I think it ll help u and your father.

he's not into jogging but i'll try to convince him to exercise. he likes to eat so i guess i wouldn't have any problems with this. thanks for responding and for the tips.

he's 61 and he's been smoking since he's in his 20s. i think that's one of the reasons why it's so hard for him to quit now. i haven't heard about this fish medicine yet but i'll try to find information about this. thanks for the tip.

make him realized how much you cared and love him but have patience...try to win the smoking habits and ask him to leave the habit slowly not suddenly and give him some tips or option so that it will be easy for him too to quit..

I hate to say this, but you can't stop him unless he makes up his mind to quit. I have an uncle who has been an alcholic all his life. We have tried everything, but he would not stop. Now he has cancer in his brain and will soon pass away. He never made up his mind to stop. It even got to the point where the doctors refused to see him because they could not help him if unless he stopped drinking.

I think your father cannot stop it if he is really used to it. Its hard to stop usual things if it is really long enough made in his life . Just tell him to do it seldom in order to step by step quitting to smoke. Thats the enjoyment of the father usually long years . Thats their exit of tiredness and fgeelings of anything in thier life,sort of break.
