My younger sister goes to private school via my moms choice but private schools cost lots of money to attend. I've also heard of the gifted program in public schools were exception students are placed because of their academic progress, and the best part it doesnt cost a thing? So my question is is private school better than public school?

This is a great question. At one point, private schools were thought to be better because of safety. However, recently the same problems that have arised in public schools have also come forth in private schools. One thing that is sure, when it comes to private vs. public education, ultimately, where the school is located is the best determination. More often than not, private schools and public schools are just about the same. I went to a public school, by choice and my cousins and brother are attending private schools. I am now in college, and I help them w/their homework. My public education has helped them score A's in private education. Of course, I am one story; but from my experience education is education.

Thank you for your comment i appreciate it greatly, im just tired of everyone fighting over and stating how private education is better than public education. I myself also went to public school and now im a senior at college heading into law school doing just fine. But yes location is indeed an important factor. I believe that it comes down to the teaching styles while public schools in the nyc area might be nosies and crowded since i live in ny i should know my sister private school is small with a great teacher to student ratio. So i can see why somepeople would say public schools students dont get the same one on one attention with the teacher as private school students. Either way i say public school can just be as good is not better than private school.
