Followers?

The advantage I find (in blogger at least) is that by following a blog, I can see who updated their blog recently without having to go and check each one manually. It also displays the first ten (or is it twenty) words, so I can make a quick decision whether or not I want to read the entry. Most of my following of other blogs is hidden; I don't want the fact that I follow your blog to be an endorsement of your posts. If you read the blogs from this particular niche interest, you would understand that one.

Followers don't give you any benefit? If you follow a blog then whenever a new post is posted in that blog, then you will get email notification for it, so people use it for the blogs which they like to be followed. If you have get the request for it then maybe the other person wants to link exchange or does not know about "Follower" widget clearly or justs wants its readers to see that people are following that blog so it must be good ha ha (many people who starts the blog do this thing he he)..

It's just to brag on how popular your blog is I think. I mean it doesn't really make it easier to follow a blog easier when you can also bookmark it. I wouldn't really pay attention to it just tell him you'll follow his blog.

"Follower" on a particluar blog means that you keep a watch on the blog and you are updated whenever there is any new activity/post on the blog. This is really a very helpful feature so that u dont need to keep on visiting the blog to see if there are any new posts. Also the new updates are automatically displayed in the lower part of the "dashboard section" in blogger.
