Why did God make people in different skin colors? Or is it evolution again?? Were our first ancestors white? black? yellow? brown? What do you think was the first human race? This is very mind-boggling to me. If we evolved from an ape-like ancestor how did we turn out to be people with different skin colors? Do you think we have less conflicts in life if we all have the same skin color and speak just the same or one language? Maybe the world would have been more peaceful and better place be. What do you think?

I think the first humans came from Africa so they were probably dark skinned. I think it depends on the part of the world your ancestors came from. It is very hot in Africa therefore more sun exposure causes skin to be darker to prevent sun damage. If you live in England however, it is very gloomy there so no need for dark skin to protect you from the sun.
Sadly skin color divides us when in fact it should not, we are all the same race, human, we just come from different climates that caused our skin colors to differentiate.

Hey, it's not gloomy here today! 23 degrees and sunny, wahay!!!
Ok, it doesn't happen very often, but it makes us appreciate it more, lol!

It's scientific. The closer your culture is to the equator, the darker your skin. What happens is that your body produces melanine to protect your body. Melanine darkens your skin to keep it from burning as easily. It's passed on through your genetics. Whether we're all different colors or all completely the same physically people will always find a reason for conflict. I personally don't think skin color means anything, but not everyone is open minded.

Why did you chose to place this post under religion? It has little to do with it and a lot more on how animals (including us) adapt to where they live. And I don´t think skin colour is the only cause of conflict among us. It seems that we are always looking for troble, one way or the other. As for language, its living and everchanging too. My grandchildren , living in my own town 5 minutes from my home, coming from the same family, don´t speak the same language as I do. They definitibly speak faster, they don´t modulate words (so as to make it harder for me to understand) and their language is full of words they must have picked up from the TV and translated to our language (Spanish here)
As for English, even in US English is not the same in every state or in every social class.
The world, to my knowledge, would be better not if we were all the same, but if we respected our differences.
Take care

Why? cause I wanted to know if my question had something to do with God's creation or evolution...that's why. I wanted to get the opinion of religious people and non religious ones...that's why. Oh, and I don't consider myself animal so I could not post this under "friend". lol Thanks for your response...take care.

Its Gods creation!
First man he made and mould by clay He was asleep
while waiting to finish until then it become so black.
Second attempt in making the man out of clay she make
it carefully and watch it so that it will not be burned
He get easily for He was afraid it will overcooked. The last
moulding of a man is the best creation He had because He can estimate
when to get it after He made the 2 creation. Thats the Filipino race.
For my own point of view He made us different colors to add beauty
on earth .So that He can see what the result of the different languages
He made out from them. The root for this is even tho we have different
language and colors we will respect and love each other from His image
and likeness.

I never really cared much discussing this with others due to so many people having issues with race, etc. When my children were younger and asked me that very same question, I used this explanation:
God wanted us all to be family and love one another. HE did not want to show favorites so he made us all alike in some ways and different in some ways. To demonstrate this to them I showed them a bag of M%M candy. I told them people are like M%M's, ALL from the same bag(God's Heaven). The only thing different about them is the COLOR; everything else is the same. Each is round, sweet, candy, chocolate inside and tastes good. That's how people are; different colors only but inside we all have feelings, bleed, cry, laugh, love, have a soul and are in God's family. Works for me.

This is a particularly beautiful explanation and you must have a wonderful soul. My children are bi racial and I used the flowers in the garden to basically give the same analogy as you did. I now have grandchildren and we are such a tight close linked family still. Bleassings to you and your family.

Thank you Cynthia. I just believe everyone is equal and this must be taught at an early age. Chldren are very impressionable and learn from OUR actions. If you raise your children right, hopefully they will turn out all right. I am fortunate to have three healthy grown men and two grandchildren. My grandchildren are bi-racial and beautiful. I could not have wanted a more suitable daughter in law; she is just beautiful in an out. My son is very lucky to have her. I am so glad to see someone else have the same blessing as I have. Have a wonderful weekend. Sherry

I think the different skin colors have a relativity of the climate. Our first ancestors should be the black.Them come from the Afirica and went to all the continets.People of them lived in the frigid turn white gradually during billion billion years;people lived in temperate zone turn yellow.Of course ,this process is very very lasting, never so much as be imagined.

We originated in the area now known as Africa. Our proximity to the equator and exposure to the sun necessitated a higher melanin amount in our skin, not only for protection, but for nutrition. The more melanin we have in our skin, the more exposure to the sun we can take, and the higher our folate levels. So dark skin would be ideal in pre-historic days before our ancestors left Africa.
As for how our skin color changed - that has to do with a change in latitude. Certain areas of the world get more or less sun. Those who traveled really far north became whiter because higher amounts of melanin combined with less sun exposure leads to nutritional deficiencies, such as vitamin D. That's why those in the far north are whiter than those who are natives in Asia, America, or Africa.
As for whether a lack of differences would make a difference in peace - probably not. There'd still be fights over territory, religion, money, etc. Humans will always find something to fight about.

I think everyone come from ape but it is just depend where they live... some live in a very hot area(africa) and some with warm and wet and some with cold and dry. so your skin will adjuct to those weather around you. I used to live in a warm and wet area (Asia) and my skin was kind of brown but when I came to the USA and live with this cold weather almost year around, then my skin start to change to a little white.
Nothing different from other animal and tress... some grow big and some grow small, and it is all depend on where you live and the weather...

The difference in skin colour is mainly due to climatic conditions.

Scientifically speaking the reason we have different skin colors is cause where we lived. A person who lives in a hot dry and sunny climate would naturally have darker skin to absorb the sun light. While a person in a cool cold climate with less sun would have lighter skin to reflect more heat. That is the reason some people are black while other are white, due to your geographic location your skin changes. My brother who was initially white looks kind of yellow now due to serving 1 year in Iraq.(Might just be the sand that's collected on him =))

I think maybe because of the weather of some place.Like Africa where is more hot make people become dark.It also increase their melanine in their skin too.Rather than west place which more cold, they have a cold weather and it make their skin become white or lighter than other people in world. It depends too their gene too.

With genetic testing having those with the most number of small mutations are deemed the oldest. Dark skinned in africa. then they went to austrailia then up to asia china and those who walked to america. finally we get to europe. The reason for so many colors is diversity. The human race is stronger the more diverse. The isn't a plague that could wipe us all out because of this. God also teaches us with diversity. Who hates? Who wants to hate? Who can focus on the real person?? There are a millions lessons around the differences in people. We learn and grow with the struggles to understand. You see it's not all about peace and the easiest time of things. It's the learning. For those of you who can look ahead to the future. We have to learn to get along with the differences in our own people. Maybe when we do we will meet an alien from another planet. If we can't get along with our own people, how can we ever hope to get along with a life form that probably evolved with an entirely difference set of parameters. If they were radically different from us, How would you treat them???? We need our diversity, growth and learning. Even if it takes some adversity, WE ARE MUCH BETTER OFF!!!

hi. God make different people cause so that we can help each other and able to develop love for each other inside our heart so that we are able to admire ourself and others and GOd. one day all people were speaking same language at Babel but all did not find anything in each other. they just wanted glory as they were same language and same strength. so as the tower they were building about to touch heaven, so God divide them through different language and they seperate so that each one show his own capacity on earth and each one able to express love through friendship and each one can come alone to God in his presence to talk to God as his own friend and father

I think God made the races for their benefit. The melanin in the skin of blacks provided protection from the equatorial sun that people in northern latitudes don’t need. Other groups in equatorial/tropical regions have darker skin than similar northern groups.
Our ability to separate ourselves along us-them lines is innate in the post-Eden world. Take the Scots. Same race/ethnic group, but their clans have been fighting (well, not lately) for centuries. Look at the Tamils and Sinhalese, the Hutus and Tutsis, the Hatfields and McCoys.

I really do not know. My speculation is that the original man (Adam) was of a darker skin color. It makes sense in my brain because black is the presence of all color... how I percieve God really.. and white is the absence of color... It's only what I think!

too bad....I stll think whoever you want to say is the first to just accidentally exist with a perfectly working system of systems (called a body) hd darker skin... protection from sun and elements... however you feel that they got here...or there

I feel it has to do with the temperatures around us.......the higher the temperature or rather the closer we are to the equator the darker our skin colour turns to.......it is because of the high melanin content in our skin that gives it the different shades.......
But yes if you add god to it, i guess yes god definitely had the option to makes all of us of the same colour........but i feel he is of great wisdom and knowledge and does the right thing....and does everything the best !!!!!

All of our ancestors are different.God wanted the world to be diverse. It's also a evolutionary process.
