are you looking? what are you looking for? are you empty? do you want a little more? searching for it. searching for something else. you might not see it, without looking at yourself. just a small switch. maybe a change of pace. someone else might do it. try a change of face. it’s not right here, must be right over there. try this, try that, pretty soon its another year. what the hell is going on? perfect life, perfect love ignites and burns away ‘till tears replace blood do i do this to myself? do i cut my joy down? could i sabotage my life? do i hide my own crown? do i build my castles floating on clouds of pain? is it even possible to be happy? or only to have rain? of course, answers aren’t known for sure but I just might have the cure. remove those bandages from your eyes. pull the scene into focus and forget the lies. love stands before you, unadorned. plain to see, if you can see the form. love stands beside you in times of pain not to shield you, but to help you gain. love learns and grows from past mistakes without them insights would be fake. love knows the need to be free and honors the space between you and me. love sees your beauty grow without end. is proud to know you and be your friend. we all make our choices in this life live in love, or love in strife. we fall in love, i believe to learn from others, to fill a need. we can choose to love, i believe based on respect, not unconscious need. love stands and learns and knows and sees, and waits for the day that you will see me.
