I took a little road trip today, drove across the local state border, to go visit some family. On the way back, I had to pee, of course, it's only expected, it was a four hour drive. I pulled off at what appeared to be an okay restroom. It wasn't a truck stop or anything, which gives it prospects to be a little bit cleaner, perhaps...I enter the store, scope it out, steadfastly searching for the restrooms. No signs, no doors, instead I have to walk behind the counter where the clerk is standing, and down a narrow hallway. What lied behind door number one was the most attrocious excuse I've ever heard for a bathroom. Nothing restful about it all. It was pure disgusting! No wonder it was hidden in the back. I thought places like this only existed in movies, like I for real felt like I was in the movie Vacancy, at a shattered down place, and worms were going to start climbing out of the toilet or sink or something. No toilet covers or anything. There was rust all over the toilet, or it could have been really dried pee, it was a brown discolored sort of looking sight, and there was dirt all over. It was the nastiest place I've ever been. I've never lost my urge to pee faster. This bathroom wasn't even hovering worthy. I thought about washing my hands as not to offend the clerk, who appeared to be the owner as well, but the sink was nothing appealing to even want to make you wash your hands. I turned around and dipped, noticed on the way out there wasn't even any toilet paper. I just had to vent about this, because about six hours later, it's still haunting my memories...so just curious, what's the nastiest place you've ever been? Just don't see how people can be that nasty, and to let customers in their, I would be ashamed.

The nastiest place I've been to were the fish markets in Vietnam. It's one of those places that are just lurking with bacteria and scum everywhere. The place had no sanitation at all so the people selling food would just dump their waste on the ground. The place where I was walking through in the market was absolutely filthy. It was a bit flooded with the foulest looking water I've ever seen. It was almost completely black water, the water must have been in the walkways in the walkways for so long that it was that contaminated. Hygiene was definitely not good at all but the smell wasn't as bad as many other places I've been to though strangely enough.
In some places the pollution on the ground would just fill up the uneven spaces on the ground. But at least it's not as bad as when they burn rubbish on the roads. That's really not pleasant at all since I have asthma.

That's crazy, especially since most fish markets depicted on T.V. and in movies and such are not nearly this bad. I myself have never been to a fish market, but that just sounds disgusting, and I'm not much of a fan of fish myself anyways. Guess it must have just been this particular market. Thanks for response!

It's just worse overseas in that country because they can't afford to use ice or insect zappers set up for the whole area. But yeah, in Australia where I live its not that bad.

Well that's good to know...I wonder what they're like here in the U.S. I live centrally, so no fish markets around here, not a big call for those :) Have to check one out one day, maybe I'll put it on my bucket list.

I used to play in Magic: The Gathering tournaments at this comic book place, and the bathroom there was gross. Not as bad as you mentioned, but it was still bad, there was mold on the toilet paper, and the toilets were off colored. I think it's because they just neglect those particular places, focusing on the front of the store only.

Mold on the toilet paper?? I would have been calling the health department at that point. I wouldn't have even wanted to know what was molding to begin with, eww...Note to self:Own a business, CLEAN THE BATHROOMS! Please :)...thank's for response.
