According to me credit card is not required if you have a debit card, because these days most of the online shopping could be done with debit card and with a company CCAVENUE including debit card as payment option. Debit card is also more secure as it contains pin protection which is not possible in credit card.
Above all the chances of fraud in credit card is more as we not require to have that much balance in our bank account.
SO please dont go into different schemes of credit card and only prefer debit card where ever possible and avoid using cards for small amount prefer cash.

I am in full resonance with your thoughts.
I feel that with all sites allowing us to pay money using internet banking/debit card there is no more need of CC.
Also since you use a debit card you are exactly aware of the amount you have available with you for spending and in that way you do not end up spending more than what you can afford...

I don't have a credit card. I think that it encourages over-spending, and it is the easiest way to get into massive uncontrollable debt. I do have a debit card, which is a good substitute and you can only spend as much money as you put into your bank account.

Hey connierebel, even i think the same.
Keeping a credit card always makes you feel that you can buy everything u like but you really dont realise it at that point in time that it becomes way more difficult tp reapay it later.
Uisng a debit card is a wise option also nowadays all sites have internet banking enabled on them, so that can be better as well..

hey connierebel,i totally agree with you ...actually according to me in reality it's just as unsafe as to enter your credit card details on a secure website as it is to give your credit card to a sales assistant or to purchase over the telephone. Either way, when you give your card details to someone you can't get them back if the person is dishonest, and you are at risk....

I have a credit card and I use it to serve my needs and not the Bank´s. I pay it entirely every month but the card let´s me know what I have spent and where. So it´s a sort of contable book of sorts. And free!!! Besides that, My credit card gives a very small amount of money for the use of the card. That money can be used only in paying some items they have (usually things I don´t need). But also , there is a travel agency asociated with them and the prize money can help buy an airfare. That´s in part how I pay for my vacations.
As you see, for me the credit card works fine. But I know a lot of people that buy things with their credit card and then they are always paying the minimun. After some time you can´t keep up with that.
take care

Its nice to know that you make effective use of your credit card.
But do you really think what all you do using a credit card cannot be done using a debit card??
And also do you really make use of the free credit period??

I refuse to ever get a credit card, reason being that it encourages people to spend more than they can pay for. Plus, I've been hearing stories that there's going to be a proposition where people who pay their credit card bills on time will pay interest for those who don't, so it's the responsible people who pay in the end.

I absolutely agree with you Nerd.
Infact thats one of the reasons why i avoid to get a credit card.
Even if you are a good payer the CC company would somehow get you in trouble and make you pay more money.
The only point where i feel it can help is medical emergencies.(in case if you do not have enough cash or if your medical insurance is over)

Credit card is a stick with two ends. Used wisely can be helpful, used stupidly can hurt you...

Hey Nagyzkazak, i absolutely agree with your thoughts.
The credit card is an extremely dangerous thing to have. If used carefully and intelligently can really save you, but if used like an idiot it can really ruin you. I have seen a couple of my colleagues get into big trouble bcoz of this.
So do you posess a credit card??
