Taekowando is a nice sport and also it's important as a means of self defence. So, I wanted to introduce my 6 years child to it. Fortunately, his school has got it as a part of regular curricular. But only one class per week on taekowando. Is it sufficient for learning? I don't think so.
However, I have found many people who discourage me from giving much importance to any martial art. They has to say that 'after all it relates to fighting and violence.'
I am confused. What is your suggestion? WOuld you let your child to learn and practice taekowando?

I personally like to learn taekwondo.^_^
I was in to martial arts before, particularly karate but I had to stop for I broke my left arm and had to rest it for quite some time.
By the way, I didn't broke my arm because of karate, it was because of another sport I was in to.
For me, I want to learn taekwondo for self-defense especially for young ladies like me, it's now quite dangerous when we're out.
Another thing is, when I was studying karate, they also bear in our minds that we shouldn't use them in violence.
We only didn't learn physical contacts but they also put in our head what should our view towards this sport should be.^_^
