This is a question that is oftentimes asked by many. Can we really earn from free lance writing? Free lance writing may involve writing for sites, or writing paid reviews. Here is one unbiased post by Brady Frost of earning particularly from helium. http://www.huntingthemuse.com/2009/05/writing-for-heliumcom-2.html Do you agree with his observations? Can you recommend a better site? What other methods do you do to earn as a freelance writer online? Do leave a comment at his post to help clarify or confirm some perceptions.

I earn a full-time income from freelance writing every month. Before I was a writer, I worked as an investment banker for a very large bank. I'm earning MORE money from writing than I did as a banker. I don't believe in the slave-labor sites like Helium or Associated Content. I think they're unfair to writers. There are far better-paying places to sell your work and get your name out as a freelancer. My entire blog is dedicated to helping freelance writers earn a proper income from their writing efforts. http://ravens-writing.blogspot.com

If you really want to earn decent money by freelance writing, you have to look outside the internet as well as within it. Even poor paying print publications pay more than most buyers on the web. My favourite content site, as you already know, Jena, is Constant Content. When I sell non-exclusive rights there, I leave a decent amount of time and then rework those articles for a Helium title, so while they are still for sale at CC, they can also earn a little at Helium. I have neglected Helium for a few months and lost my writing stars. I agree with Brady Frost about the ratings. It's very disappointing when an article initially rated high drops to a low rating, and what appear to be less deserving articles slot in above. For one of my articles I received a commendation from a Helium steward, but it was rated bottom of the pack. Of course peer rating has to be subjective and you just have to take a chance on this. I believe that quantity is more important than quality for earning at Helium.

Hi Jean, I too, experienced that, but it is from helium that I have earned more compared to associated content and triond. As for constant content, they're very strict with regards to grammar and punctuation that I could not seem to compose an article fit for them as I don't pay much attention to my punctuations. I hope you'll get your star back at helium, I heard there is another rewardathon and the responder next to you said he earned around more than a hundred dollars...wow... good luck. and God bless.

The genuine freelancers pay you really good.freelancing pays you good but they are not regular they delay the payments many times, but they do pay you.It Also matters whether the work you are doing is under a genuine freelancer and not any fraud.

A great site to check out is textbroker. Get paid 0.01 a word or more to write short, easy articles, usually SEO kinda jobs. A great deal of the articles just write themselves. You could clear hundreds easily for little effort. A great place to check out for a little scratch, if you know what I mean. Some of these freelance writing job end up only for pennies. Not Textbroker. That site is pretty good.

Personally I have never tried to make money that way.....free lancing though I have made some.....I have written and had my articles in magazines and they do pay....not well but they do pay....I tried Helium for a while and that just didn't do anything for me.

I agree with what Brady says about Helium there is a system to making decent money with Helium, it has to be with accumulating enough published content to increase your upfront earnings and including a decent percentage of empty title submissions. I don't think of my participation at Helium as freelance writing, except for articles submitted to the Marketplace. I think of Helium as a long term writing project that produces income in a variety of ways. Building up a good list of stock article, and maintaining stars for quality writing and rating, provides me with an ongoing source of income. My earnings from writing at Helium and other sites steadily increases the more I write and the more I learn about how to write good web content that gets found in search results.

yes you can actually make money through freelance writing just like i make around 200$ or more every month, you can do this and get registered with freelance websites, when you register you can bid for writing jobs and then get paid through several ways
