I've taken part in a couple of focus group studies before. I tend not to get that many, but when I do, the money's good for very little time. I've done two this year. The first was in January for £35 (for an hour's one-to-one) - the other was a few weeks ago (a group one) for an hour for £25.
I really enjoy doing them and wish I could get called for more, but some of them have a rule that you can't have taken part in a focus group study in the past 6 months. Ah well.
Anyway, well done, again.

I have heard of focus groups and such but I have never gone to one before. Is this something you can do online or do you have to meet up somewhere to discuss things?

Actually, rookiekan, it's not a scam. But if you find it easier to conclude that it's a scam without actually doing any research of your own, then so be it.
Focus group studies are genuine and pay well. They're like the caviar-eating cousins of taking surveys! A lot of the time, you're invited to share your views on a product that hasn't been released yet - this is normally done in person in a one-on-one or group setting. However, some are done over the phone, on the web or in-home visits.
The studies pay well because it's at a crucial stage of the product's life-cycle (research & development) and because the company concerned have but a sizable bulk of money aside for that purpose.

I have read about focus groups before but have never taken part in them. Hopefully in the future I will get to explore such opportunites. I would have to rely on a web one as I dont think there would be too many going here in N.Ireland. Perhaps I will do a search now and see if I can find any sites offering these
