Summer is one of my favorite times of the year. I spend most my time at the pool or beach. This summer we have a huge list of things that we are going to be doing. I have a membership at the local zoo so we will go there a few times with family and friends. The kids love the zoo and well it is a great way to spend the day, that is if it is not blistering hot. we also have a pool so we will be at it a great deal of time as well, with neighbors and friends. The kids are learning to swim and love the water. We are going camping in a couple of weeks at a park that is designed for families with children that are under the age of 8, they have a water park, multiple play areas and a beach. We are going to the family beach house at the end of summer. The kids will all go to camp for nine days, it is just a day camp but it will be a nice break for me.. And the kids will all go spend a week at the In laws house one at a time.. Wow maybe I do not need ideas it seems we have a fairly busy summer ahead of us.. What fun things are you going to be doing this summer.

Looks like your calendar is full. One thing we will be doing is going to the local Barnes and Noble on Saturdays. They have a wonderful interactive story time with live characters, snacks and activities. My daughter will be taking dance class as well. My son will be 6 months old in a little over a week. He will be going on walks (via stroller) with me.

We took a break from dance, gymnastics and sports for the summer. I wanted to limit our "scheduled" activities like that. Have a great time

Sounds like you will have fun as well. Try not to spend to much time inside with those hot computers

I really love summertime, but my room can get a bit too hot This summer I am going away twice with friends. First we are going to the coast for a week a camping and drinking. Then we are going to Amsterdam for 4 days. I can not wait for this as I have been wanting to go for ages. at home I guess I will chill in the sun with my headphones on. Hopefully a few barbecues will occur too. I used to go camping for a week each summer when I was a kid with the scouts, that used to be great fun

sounds like you are pretty busy over the summer but i would suggest you look into your local library. some libraries have reading programs for kids. ours has points for as many books and you get rewards for these points.

summer is a great time for getting fit so why not join the gym/get an exercise regime on the go. Involve your friends too. A new hobby is a great idea too. I plan to decorate my room this summer as I have a lot of free time.

Library is a great idea. I am just not so sure how my kids would react to it. I am in shape...

ohhhhhhhh......., no fun, really no fun at all here in summer. it is 35 to 45 degree selcius and too hot to do anything. have u ever come to india in summer?, if not then u can't understand how people survive here in summer. we love winter here and we often go for picnic or tour in winter. summer means hot, flood, mosquitoes, leeches and so on. enjoy your summer.

My kids are 4 and 6 and they love to have water balloon/water fights. It's cheap and a lot of fun!

Watching Players - My daughter watching the players warm up before the game!
Well, last weekend, my daughter and I enjoyed taking in a St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals baseball game in St. Louis. It was awesome. We got there early, we were hoping to get to watch the teams take batting practice, but they didn't have batting practice before the game. That was a bummer, we were hoping to catch some balls in the bleachers, but I guess there is always next time! We also went to the St. Louis Zoo where we got to touch the Stingrays. My daughter was a little scared at first, but she warmed up to the idea. We had so much fun at the zoo! We were there for over 6 hours. Needless to say, she was asleep in the car about 5 minutes after we left. Some other things that I like doing in the Summer is, taking the kids to the local park. It is nice to see them play and wear themselves out. LOL. Another thing that I love doing in the Summer....Rummage Sales! I went to about 20 of them today and I found myself and the children alot of nice clothing. It is always nice to find clothing in excellent condition and getting it at such a cheap and reasonable price. Anyway, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Summer!

I love rummage sales as well. but getting up early enough to go to them is not my thing. We hope to take them to a minor league game, as we do not want to spend the money on a major league game to leave after a couple of innings. (their attention span could not last long enough for an entire game.)

Parks, parks, parks. It doesn't cost much to throw a few sandwiches and snacks in a bag, get up early and head for a park. My children's fondest memories are of going to the park. Sometimes we didn't even take food, we just stopped off after being someplace and spent a couple of hours. There is so much to do and learn there for children. We used to go to a different one every weekend. And to a different shelter or area every time too. At the park you can find shade or lay in the sun. There is water to play in and critters to find and new places to explore. That was always our favorite thing to do in the summer. Now we do it with the grandchildren...

We have some lovely parks around our area and we will be utilizing them. Especially when the pool gets old.

It does seem like you have a busy summer planned. My favorite things to do in the summer are playing beach volley ball, swimming, surfing, lazing around in the sun for a good tan, and just enjoying nature. My daughter and I love going out during the summer. We live in Ohio, so our warm months are limited and we make the best of it when it's nice. We also enjoy going to festivals and amusement parks. As long as it's warm and outside I'm happy.

Oh wow you do live in a colder climate. I was in Chicago for eight years and well that is why we moved. I could not take it anymore
