I am woman, and i am a smoker too, but i smoke only in my home, in kitchen or in my office, when i am alone.
I think that i am a modern person, but are some limits in what a lady can do or not.
Is really unpleasent to see a woman who smoke a ciggar in the street, in park or in restaurant, i don t know why, but i really don t like.
Minimum decency? or old fashioned?
Do you think that here is talk about education or just is a woman choice to be more masculin as she is in real?

I suppose this is where I have to disagree with you. It's probably just because of how we were raised & our differences in culture. I live in the US, and a lady smoking in public has never been the equivalent of social indecency. It's actually a social norm - and many people in my country would be upset if it were otherwise. I don't personally think there's anything wrong with it - except that smoking is bad for you && shouldn't really be done around people who aren't willing to injest that dangerous 2nd hand smoke.

This is what i call years and years of impact that man has had on women kind! Its come to such a point that man no longer has to do his job he has women discriminating against women! What do you mean by its not right for a women to smoke out doors! i think its down right not right for any one to smoke outdoors. It affects everything, the children of society see it happening and take it lightly and follow in their elders footstep. She is not being more masculine, she is just being a smoker! :P

In USA smoking is prohibited in public places. You can only smoke on the street, but not inside any building, including restaurant and bars.
I don't like when someone smoke at home and I would let anyone smoke at my house, even when I am not present. Smokers house smell so badly, that I wouldn't buy a place when someone used to smoke. Same with cars.

Are you serious? As a woman you should feel liberated to be able to do exactly what a man does. Smoking or whatever else. I copletely disagree with you. I am a feminine woman who's married with a kid and honestly it angers me that anyone would feel this way. I was the first female wrestler for my school in high school and you know, it wasn't unlady like at all. I feel pushing the barriers for acceptance is a good thing and maybe as a woman we should take more pride in the rights that we have.

I do not like people smoking all together. I don't like the smell of the smoke. I think it is not a good idea for people to smoke in public because it affects other people who do not smoke and it also serves as a bad example for children. I think it is worse when parents smoke with their children around, even the babies. They are exposing them to all sorts of toxins. That is really sad.

Here in the states, it is common to see women smoking. I am different in that I will smoke outside and I won't smoke in a restaurant or even in my kitchen or anywhere in my home. I don't want my home to smell like smoke for my daughter or for any guests or even myself. I won't smoke in public places because it is the law and again...not to offend others. I don't feel a need to hide that I smoke...I do...why hide it?

Same thing here in Canada. My husband does not smoke in our house, rather he goes out to smoke on the back patio. I can not stand the smell of smoke. It makes me sick!! Also, we live in an apartment building, so we woudln't want the place to smell and disturb the neighbours. No one smokes in our building. It's kindof an unwritten rule around here, to smoke outside. It's illegal by city bi-law to smoke in the hallways. It's a good excuse fir him to get outside and take a ittle walk.

Smoking is addiction, its how i see it, either man or woman pratice it. I am not against to a woman who smokes in any public place, but i am not comfortable to be with a woman who smoke inside the restaurant.
Smoking is a choice of everyone and anyone can smoke anytime anywhere as long as it is allowed in the place where it is practice.
In my own opinion, because smoking can be done by anyone it isn't really a womans choice to be masculine, because it can not add masculinity to a woman if she smoke.

The problem is thesmokers are not only making their life a living hell but also risking others life.A smoker should remember that smoking affects the surrounding persons as well as its affecting the smoker. If you want to reduce your life then you are welcome and I dont care how much do you smoke but pl. let others live who do not want to get affected by smoking.

In my opinion, i think we shouldn't have the discrimination or biased thought that it is fine for men to smoke but not women. Though the fact is, there're more man smokers in the society than woman. We see fewer woman smokes than men do but anyway we should treat them in equal, and not saying that women who smokes are unacceptable.
On the other hand, i personally think that smoking is really bad for health, not only that it harms the smoker him or herlsef, but also the people around them. So, while saying that we should treat all smokers equal, we should also say that smoking is really a bad habit that everyone should avoid it and for those who smoke better get rid of it.

I think that anything a man can do, a woman can do... I dont think that it is "indecent" for a woman to smoke in public and I really just dont understand why it would bother you... As a woman, I would think that u would be happy to see that women can do the same as men.

I am with you. It really bothers me when someone is bothered by one gender doing something, but they accept it from another gender. Why should women be any different from men?

I never smoke and I always stay away from smokers because the "second-hand smoke" has the more deadly effect than the one who smoke, but I respected people who smoke only that they don't do it in a public place where there are people that can be affected. Restaurants, offices and shopping malls are places that should be protected from smoking because of its danger.
Thank God, there are strict regulations in the Philippines that public places, offices, establishments, public utility vehicles and shopping malls should not tolerate smoking.

In my culture, it is not polite for a lady to smoke in public. I am not familiar with other country's culture but I think, it's not a sight to see for a woman to do that. As for public places, I don't care whether man or woman, they're not supposed to smoke there. I think almost all places provide smoking area.

Maybe it is a cultural thing like the first person said. But I think if a woman choses to smoke she should have the same rights as male smokers. I am a smoker and am not ashamed to smoke outside or in public. And, I don't know any women who don't smoke outside. In fact, in this area, that is what you are supposed to do. Most places don't let you smoke inside anymore. I don't think it is un-lady like at all

I totally agree with you, though I don't hope you to smoke.smoking is not at all good to health. Recently I was still in street, saw several high school girls in smoking,I was very angry with it.
