Links to and from AC

United States

I'm an AC and blogging noob, so please excuse any dumb questions. I'm just starting to understand how linking to AC articles can be a useful thing. Would any of you mind commenting on my assumptions: 1. It seems fair game to use Stumble and Digg to try to bring attention to your article as long as you operate within Stumble/Digg's rules. 2. It seems fair game to have links from your blog to your articles, because it benefits both AC and myself. 3. I'm less sure about this, but I'm guessing that a link from an AC article to your blog is acceptable if its not done too frequently and if it is relevant to the article. Thanks for any input.

Hi GraySpirit, I can't see your link to AC from the profile in mylot. I have sent you the link to do the free banners, just three easy steps, and you have colorful banners to paste in mylot profile. I do have visitors to my blog from mylot and AC. AC is a PR6 site, but they have built-in mechanism to stop people from using articles to create backlink to their blogs. They are smart enough to incorporate a "no follow" tag, so that search engine will not see AC as providing backlink to improve ranking of personal blog. However, AC has a lot of readers from search engine. They will visit your profile page to access your blog. You can also use put the URL of your blog in "resources box", but dont do for every article. Promoting your article internally in AC is another way to increase page views, and traffic to your blog. There's one AC writer, Alex Stanton, joined later than me, wrote 53 articles, but he got double my page views, and won best new source award. He's very diligent in reading articles, leaving comments, and adding favorites. I guess the traffic to his blog improve too.

I don't know about your number 4, either, but AC has a forum where you can ask questions like that. I would be cautious about linking to your own blog because they don't like people using them that way. I can see why, when some people only sign up to promote a blog or book and abuse the system.

Thanks, yes it's not my intent to develop a reputation as a spammer there.

I also put links to my articles from my blog. However I dont put links to my blog into my articles. I dont think associated content would approve of this. I wouldnt want to upset them lol. You will find that associated content is a great site. It allows its members to make a lot of money in their spare time. I really love the site.

Ah nice. I'm still crawling. Hehe ... and I don't belong to any of those types of social networking sites. I guess that will be one more thing to look into.
