I hear this statement all the time about Pastors and churches, "All they want is your money!" All the movie theater, the grocery store, the hospital or any other business wants is your money yet we still patronize these businesses. But as soon as someone wants to take up an offering in church, "all they want is my money!" Newsflash!! It takes money to run a ministry, a charity, a mission or any other establishment where people are helped. Why should the church make less money than your local Target? Seriously what has Target done for you Lately?

You make a very good point, drsenergy. If we should be giving money to anything, it's charity. However, I figure, the best thing to spend your money on the bare necessities. If you make extra, you should invest it in a bank account or something similar, where your money can make money for you. Then when you're well off, give some of that to charity, and fund not-for-profit organizations that strive for positive change.

Yeah if the church needs money for charity, why not give it directly to the charity? Organized religions are a Big Scam. The proof of this is they (Churches) are the richest businesses in the world. Nobody living today has any idea of the value of the stolen antiques the Pope is sitting on, in the Vatican. These stolen items are priceless. People need to sit up and take notice and stop believing everything the Church tells them.

Most churches, especially larger ones have their own charitable ministries which need funding, such as feeding programs, clothes closets, missionaries they support and so on. Not to mention the money that churches need just for necessities such as mortgage and utilities. In other words, the church IS a Charity and if no one donates to them as to other charities where is the money going to come from?
