last year a lady and her two young children moved in across the street. she asked me about my dogs when i was out walking, and we had a few casual conversations. then it was cold and we didn't talk at all until spring. she was having trouble with one of her dogs and so i helped her. since then we have walked our dogs together and visited often.
i really, really like her, but she does something i find odd, and a bit uncomfortable. she is always giving me stuff. she has given me chicken wings (said she bought more than they can eat) ham (said she did not have enough room to keep it in her fridge but it was on sale so she bought it) and several bottles of wine, which she said she got for free from a friend who quit drinking. while i appreciate these gifts greatly, i feel like i should be doing something in return, i just don't know what, or even if maybe i am just being paranoid.
any thoughts on the matter?

Some people are very giving so, if you like this lady, accept her kindness and if you happen to be able to do something nice for her one day, do it. If she wanted something in return she probably would have stopped talking to you by now since this seems to have been going on for a little while.

Well I would probably feel the same way you feel. You probably feel obligated now. Right? This could be her way of thanking you for helping out with her dog. Also she may be trying to buy your friendship LOL LOL LOL. Or she is could just be a kind hearted person that likes to give people stuff that she can't use or has to much of. Do you just say thanks and take it,or do you say oh no thanks, but then she persist? If you just accept it I would then one day bake her a cake, banana bread, cupcakes since she has kids or invite her over for dinner. I'm bad at accepting gift or things from people for some reason, though I myself love to give gifts and to surprise people. Remember everyone is different and maybe this is just her way of showing friendship.

Maybe she just like's to give people thing's. alot of people like to do thing's for somebody, it make's them feel good. maybe she do's not have any sister's to do thing's for or with and think's of you as a sister. next time you are out walking your dog's, causelly ask her if she like's doing thing's for people like you do b/c it make's you feel good and see what she say's.
