Here I am nearly my bedtime (11pm ish) in the UK and my daughter and her boyfriend are just off out to a party, oh to be young again but then I am up at 6.30- 7am and they will probably lay in til nearly lunchtime or later so I guess we do get similar amounts of sleep. Makes me feel old though as I remember the days well from my own youth. When was the last time you went to an all night party? Huggles. Ellie :D

i am 47 and i still do at least every week and at times i stay up late 3 to 4 times in a week social drinking with friends in some bar and still get up to work at round 7 or 8 in the morning. well, i got used to it but it is not the same as when i was younger where i can really party all day long! i get sleepy and tired easily. it does come with age.

very true, ellie. i do not have that responsibility, still, at my age that is why i still have that luxury of having time to do it. maybe, what you can do is invite your friends at home and have a party so you won't have to go out or hire a trusted nanny to take care of your little one once in a while. that is what my friend did when she wants to party with us and we took turns minding the little one whenever we are there partying.

Hi Tigerdragon, I think if I didn't have a little one at home I would be out more but probably only on weekends where I don't have an early start at work. Good for you though. Huggles. Ellie :D

It's been many a year since my partying days. I fondly remember staying out until the wee hours of the morning, and still getting to work ontime...and feeling great all day. If I tried that now, my internal clock would be out of whack for a week...lol.

I guess that the 'Get Up And Party' genes are passed on to our children, along with hair and eye color, etc. Once they are successfully passed on they become dormant in our own systems. In some people these somehow get turned back on in the 60 to 70 age range. These individuals tend to buy RV's and travel extensively to meet up and party with others similarly afflicted. Their only concession to age is that they bring their houses with them, thus avoiding the drive home.

I'm in college, so sometimes on weekends I'll go out around 10:30 or 11 and not go to bed until around 3am. I do tend to sleep a lot the next day and usually only get up in time for lunch.

maybe 25 years ago, yes it is so good to be young, I wish I was young again, life just seems to go by too quickly. I am a night owl so I am up all night I just prefer it. Now that I don't work I just make my own hours to sleep.

As far as I can remember all night party wasn't my favorite. Last time I attended all night party was 7 years ago...I was tired for the next 3 days... I am fine for no longer than 2 AM.... Wen I was very young, all night study was on my schedule, not all night party....

I have not been to an all night party in a very long time either. I work all night long though. I sleep during the daytime hours. My daughter is at the age where she stays out late too. I wish I was young again sometimes also.

Hi there Ellie. Well maybe i am less of a party person or something, but i think only during new year's eve was i out at all night parties. Apart from that the only parties that got to be late night-ers happened in my own house, as i have more open parents that let me have my guests over.

hi Elitess, Oh I let the girls have that at home too as that way I get to meet their friends and know where they are. The party my daughter went to last night was one of her frinds birthdays at his house so I knew where she was. Huggles. Ellie :D

The last time I went to an all night party was probably back in the 70's before I had kids. Since then the only all nighters I've been part of have included either vomiting or a fever...or both.

Hey ellie! I don't remember the last time that I actually went out to a party at all! I have all my parties in my house! I might be up sometimes all night online or reading or doing something in the apartment, but that's as much of a "party" as it gets! I used to go across the street to my girlfriends house sometimes when I couldn't sleep and she would be cooking at 2:00am or so and we would have dinner! We haven't even done that in awhile!lol Now that my boyfriend is living here he goes to sleep pretty early and I just putter around the apartment quietly so I don't wake him up! He is an early riser, which is the exact opposite of me!

I do occasionally stay out later than I should during the week. I have been known to still stay out almost all night if a party at a friends house winds down to a group of people just chatting. It has been recently that I really noticed that the getting going part the next day is a little harder. When I was younger after a little sleep I was good as new. Not the case anymore.
