What kind of girl do you like?

Some of my friends suggest me to be softer, cause I am too independent to be taken care by a guy, which will scare all the guys away, so that's the reason why I am still single now.
Do you really think independence will scare people away? What kind of girls do you like? More dependent on you or self-dependent?

I vote that you be who you are and not pretend to be someone else.
I picked my wife because she was the independent type. There are guys out there who prefer that. I preferred independence because I preferred a career type of woman and someone who could think on her own two feet.
Minor personality adjustments are okay, but I wouldn't recommend going too far. If you end up with someone who just wants you to be too submissive, I'm guessing you will resent it and things will go poorly.
Just make sure that you really are as independent as you think you are. Sometimes people act one way, but think another.
