does everyone try to rate peoples responses

I never rates peoples responses but i always pick a best response from the discussion. i actually not aware of how the rating take place and how i rate the people response til now but now onwards, i do this also. thanks for making me aware of this. swatig

I feel that you should try to rate the responses, but I also agree that it is not always easy to select a best response.
If there are several good responses, then your best approach would be to simply choose one, as long as it is a good response then you are being fair. The problem comes when all the responses are poor and pointless, in which case I would not pick any of them.
There is no necessity to select a response as being the best, and if you select a poor one there is a chance that someone may add a good response later.

I try to rate as many responses as I can. I'll give it a positive rating if a response adds something to the discussion, uses proper grammar and spelling, etc. Lots of spelling or grammatical errors or trollish comments will usually earn a negative rating from me.

thanks for letting me know, I am kind of a chat typer, so I dont pay much attention to grammar, or spelling. I also have a thing for putting dots in after my sentences. I will try to put myself back into check in those areas... THANKS!
