tomatoes

This year i planted tomatoes plants and they are growing well . what is the best way to store tomatoes up for making sause later canning or just frezzing it ? how long does the canning method work for, i also just got a dehydrator so i might go that way it is suppose to last 30 years.

We have three tomato plants this year too. I have never canned or froze any of my tomatoes before. I go ahead and make up my salsa though and then freeze them. I think canning is better than freezing though.

It would work either way you choose to do it. I am not sure how long the canning method works for, but i know my grandmother used to can and some of the canned items stayed good for several years.

I use Roma tomatoes for making my sauces. I blanch the tomatoes. Peel off the skin and make spaghetti sauce or a seasoned sauce. Then I freeze the sauce. It is easy to thaw and cook.
