they both are train wrecks if you ask me.. kate seems controlling and uncaring and has a brood of kids.. octomom is absent in the head living off everyone else and in dream land it seems and has a brood of kids.. both want to be famous and have books (kate already has one) and octomom may or may not be getting a reality show (i have heard dozens of stories saying both) which is the better mom? which mom would you rather have? i cant imagine being EITHER of these womens kids! but thats just my opinion.. whats yours?

Hmmm... well I really wouldn't want either one as a mom but I think if I had to choose then I would pick Kate over the other one. At least she is making good money off of that show and not on public assistance. So hopefully in a few years there would be some money left over for the kids. Also, the kids know who their father is as opposed to the other situation. I think Kate probably keeps her kids in line judging from her on the show and how controlling she is. This is a pretty good discussion, really makes you think... Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

yeah true i think the knowing who their father is and having him around might make kate a better choice

I woudln't put my money on either one of those mothers. Neither one is a good mother, if you ask me. All the best mothers out there are the ones NOT making the news, and that's an absolute shame. I can think of a list of mothers right now, that I think should have shows, and write books on what it means to be a good mother.

I've read and seen news on them. I don't know if it's in my place to say, but it seems that both moms have too much to handle and I pity their kids very much. Perhaps the eldest child will have lots of 'responsibility' to bear. Perhaps..

How about blame the networks who try to capitalize off peoples vulnerabilities and will throw money at these people just to get the right clip over and over for their ratings even at the expense of a family of 8 children. Giving these kids whatever they want does nothing for these children and the youngest children have only known this from the time they could speak. Im sure Jon and Kate were just thrilled as ever to be able to share their experience and of course any parents would want to give their kids the best at a future and probably took this gig because it spelled out college tuitions for every one of them and whatever TLC promised, do we have to just call them bad mothers? Do you know Kate's background? She can hold down a family and keeps that household together to a T and only having 2 children let me tell you it can get stressful and cameras do not change that, yes she agreed to that, and I do not agree with how she treats Jon--love the guy! He is sooo funny, just tickled when he actually gets a chance to talk. Nobody forced him into that relationship and maybe thats how he likes his woman or maybe he didn't get to know the woman he was to marry it happens everyday except in this case its with cameras. To Kates behavior I just think we should hold on judgement because we do not know her background and maybe she grew up with tough, overcritical anal parents and thats all she knows--I've never heard anything about her mom or father. Maybe Jon grew up with a dominant mother figure and his father was the passive type--DO WE REALLY KNOW, Is face value any indication of the truth?

Im glad that somebody else doesn't make Kate out to be a devil, one thing about Kate's upbringing was that she was poor, so by doing the show I think she is just trying to give her family a better life than she had, right now there is "crazy drama" like i posted in my response, but thats because of Jons decisions but he was 22 when he got married and is only what, 32 or somthing now and has 8 kids.....so he perhaps had an early midlife crisis....but to compare this family to the crazy octomom who ,when she thought she lost one of the six kids, threatened to kill herself on a 911 call in front of the other young children, is crazy

Yea, I think she is a perfectionist and that comes from her fear of not having control--totally understand her and I find it hard to hear more stories about the Octomom because I just think she is not capable yet as a mother but I wouldn't dare compare her to Kate. Kate is totally invested in raising her kids and not just bringing them into the world. Me, I'd love to have a third child but I take the economy, my educational background and how it would impact my two girls into account and Im just not ready. I admire Kate so much for her strength.

from what i heard jon was really active in school and popular so him being so introverted on the show makes me wonder what life off the show is like.. yeah i think honestly there shouldnt be any reality show when kids are involved.. or at least they would have to be in their late teens or something..

If I had to choose (which would really be neither) I would choose Kate only because she would be more financially able to take care of her children. If I am not mistaken she used to be a nurse. I think she definately should show her children more affection. I pray that her and Jon would wake up and try and save their marriage for the children's sake. I wonder if they have tried going to marriage counseling. It's a shame what is happening to their family. As for Octomom, I feel sorry for her children. I'm a single mother with two children and it is really hard for me; I would hate to be in her shoes. She needs to get her head out of the clouds and think about what is truely best for them.

I have a feeling that they are going to do the marriage counseling, i really hope that they pull through it all too because they are a wonderful family when they are getting along,....i feel really sad for the Octomom's kids because they are not being cared for enough in any way, the woman is delusional and crazy to have that many children without a job or partner...one part of me hopes octomom gets a show because at least that means more money and hopefully more care for the children, but the other side of me thinks that she shouldn't because she cannot provide for these children enough either way emotionally or financially anyways even with the money from the show because she will prolly end up blowing it

I think the Octomom's problem is that she's still stuck at the age of a teenager and has not reached maturity and it certainly shows---the 'head in the clouds' impression she gives is that she just does not know the consequences of her actions

i heard they are in counciling but havent decided if the show will be let in on the sessions or not.. the only way i would want octomom to get a show would be so that maybe they could see if she really is taking care of them ok and if not then no one could ignore it and something would have to be done

Neither...I would rather be Momless...at least than you can have a dream of how great your Mom would have been. Ok, back to the question..I think TLC should get that guy Schmoley or something like that was his name, he did Shalom in the Home. I loved him. He was down to earth and didn't pull any punches. He should pay Jon & Kate a visit. Then for those kids...they need a super nanny or maybe 2 to whip those spoiled little butts into line.

I would pick Kate hands down, i have been a fan of the show for a few years but now i stopped watching it because of all of the crazy drama and dysfunctionalality (i think i just made that word up lol) of it all, but as someone who watched the show i will defend kate and point out, cmon if you had 6 three years olds, twin six year olds (just picking the ages that i remember most from the show) and a kind of unemotinal husband, wouldn't you be controlling? Octomom is very crazy because she has 14 freaking kids and no husband and no job, so comparing that whack job to Kate who at least thought things out, is crazy to me

I got a quarter and i'll toss it up in the air. Heads or Tails? lol. I guess I would have to say Kate. She didn't get pregnant with multiples on purpose with the intention on cashing in on it. Even though she is doing a good job making up for it now I guess. lol. OctoMom did get pregnant with the intention of cashing in on whatever she could get. and if they give her her own show they are doing exactly what she wanted in the first place.

I can't really stand either mom. They are destroying 22 kids lives as far as I'm concerned. Whoever came up with the idea of a reality show using young kids like this should be fired. I would not be able to choose either one so I'm sticking with the one I have thank you very much. I think they horrible moms. Kate is always away leaving Jon to take care of all 8 kids while Octomom is not on this planet as far as I'm concerned. I think those kids would have a much better chance if they were adopted.

could you imagine if they all got split up in adoptions though? the stress they would have trying to find each other? but yeah i sometimes wonder too

Hi moon...I would have to say it would be Kate. I think she has had a nice little jolt back to reality with all the publicity and I am anxious to see how the show goes this year with her and Jon both traveling and being able to get away by themselves for a spell. I truthfully believe they both feel they are providing for their children, but have not accepted the cost of doing so. The noteriety of beingon Tv means you have no public life anymore and for some that is just to much to handle. Kate has an outgoing personality which I see coming out more in her twins each episode, whereas Jon is a more private person and doesn't like being in the limelight all the time. When you have two such different personalities living in one household there will no doubt be speculations of affairs and not getting along. I think that Kate needs to take a step back and think about what life was like before TV and remember that she is not the only one who should have a say in what is going on. flutterby
