Whenever I have extra lemons or limes I freeze the juice in the trays. A cube adds flavor to a glass of tea or water. Other have told me that they store fudge, tomate paste and soup in their trays. What creative uses do you have?

Hi sweetbabyjane, I use ice cube trays to freeze herbs in to retain the freshness for when they aren't in season. I filled the freezer with mint leaves earlier in the year as the simple addition of a mint filled ice cube to a glass of water is wonderfully refreshing. I now need to start filling the trays up with basil leaves so I will still have the fresh leaves in the winter for cooking.

Thank you for your response, thea09. That is a wonderful idea. I will do that so that I will have herbs like that to use. I did not think of that myself. Happy MyLotting.

If you chop up herbs and put them in some water in the trays they come in really handy for popping into soup etc. I usually do this with basil then make tomato and basil soup by adding a few ice cubes to the tomato mixture.

My kids like for me to freeze Pepsi in them and then they will have a frozen cube to add to their drink or they will take them out and use them to melt in their mouths. They really like this in the summer when it is hot out. You can use juice or Kool-Aid too.

Thanks pamelaanne. That is a wonderful idea. My 3 year old grand daughter loves the fruit flavored popsicles. The store I shop at doesn't always have them when I need them and they are expensive unless they are on sale that week. I will certainly give this a try. Happy mylotting.
