Last Christmas a friend of mine told me she got crockpot liners in her Christmas stocking. It sounded pretty neat, it's like a bag that goes inside your crockpot while you're cooking, then instead of washing the crockpot, you just remove the bag! I asked her to let me know how well they worked. Apparently she loves them. So, when I went to visit her a few weeks ago she gave me a box of these liners. She likes them so much and she knows I use my crockpot a lot, she wanted me to try them. Wow I love them! I make some pretty messy things in my crockpot. Right now I have ribs in the crockpot covered in bbq sauce. Boy would that be a nasty clean up if I didn't have a liner in there. I also tend to make spaghetti sauce in my crockpot, and soups. If I forget to soak the crockpot overnight, that becomes a terribly messy clean up!! These liners are fantastic though, it makes clean up so easy! Have you ever used a crockpot liner bag? Do they even sell them where you are?

Good Morning, katsmeow. Well, I'm thinking that no, they don't sell crockpot liners here. For this is the first I've even heard about them. So maybe they do, I just never looked for them. It sounds like a wonderful idea for you are right. There are alot of things that make such a mess in a crockpot and takes awhile to clean it out. Not to mention, already tricky cleaning a crockpot out in a sink for it doesn't fit very well. I will have to check around and see if they do sell them here. I would give them a shot, as long as their affordable. Too expensive, well I'll just stick to soaking it or put that elbow grease in. Thanks for this insight! You would'nt know how much they are by any chance? Just for a rough idea.

I haven't actually purchased any yet, they were given as a gift. I think they're only a couple dollars though.

That's what I kind of figure to, katsmeow. Should be 2-3 bucks hopefully. I am going to check for them the next time I do go to WalMart. Besides myself, my son would also be happy about this seeming dishes are part of his chores to.

I'm sorry, but do you not realize that because you are too lazy to wash a pot, that you are helping to fill a landfill? What is this liner made of? Plastic? Is it recyclable? Because if it isn't recylcable, I don't agree with it. We are supposed to be trying to SAVE our environment, not make MORE garbage.

Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean you need to get nasty and call me lazy! I am far from lazy, I'm a stay at home mom of 5 kids and just don't have the time to be washing that many more dishes, by hand no less because I don't own a dishwasher. WE are not SUPPOSED to be saving the environment, there is no law about not using things that aren't recyclable. How about you go rant and rave to the company who makes the liners, not the people who buy them. They're useful and a great idea, and I will continue to use them... I also use oven bags too, I love the taste of food that's been cooked all together in an oven bag!

You didn't answer MY question. IS IT RECYCLABLE OR NOT? I guess the reason you are being so unreasonably defensive is because it must NOT be, so you do feel somewhat guilty. MY OPINION is that I am against it, PERIOD. I have that right. I don't want to fill up landfills. I buy recyclable products. Unfortunately, it is NOT a priority for you. I get it, you are run ragged being a mother of 5, and it is an INSTANT solution to a problem. Really, I do. Been there, done that. But I just wish more people would make better decisions about our planet's future, is all. Putting things into landfills causes WATER contamination. Plain and simple. And the only reason there is life on this planet is because of the CLEAN drinking water available. Once that runs out, we all die. Like it or not, it's a fact. I didn't call you any names, nor swear at you, so I seriously doubt my post is considered offensive. Just the truth. There are plenty of things people do because they are too lazy to do it the old fashioned way. No need to get your knickers in a twist over it. There are better things to pick a fight over.

I haven't tried them but i'm pretty sure I remember hearing about them. That does sound pretty easy. I use my crockpot atleast once a month. Usually I just soak it overnight and then throw it in the dishwasher though so it isn't too bad of a clean up. I'll have to give them a try though. I'm sure walmart has them. I'm not sure which isle to look though, probably with the foil and such would be my guess.

I don't even have a dishwasher, so you have no idea what a relief these are for me!

I have seen them before, but I have never bought them. I don't really use my crock pot that often and most of the reason is how much of a pain it is to get all that cooked on food off the pot. I do want to start using it more often though, so I guess I should look into getting some of those liners to save myself the headache when it comes time for cleanup.

I love my crockpot, and use it probably once a week at least. I might go spurts where I don't use it often, then spurts where I use it more than once a week. You can cook anything in the crockpot, and even the really cheap cuts of meat come out juicy and tender. Throw your food in first thing in the morning and then you can forget about it all day! I couldn't live without my crockpot!

Actually, I did not know there were crock pot liners. Sounds like a keeper. I use my crockpot a lot too, and like you, usually leave it overnight with soapy water and wash it out the next day. I would probably cook a lot more in the crockpot if I had liners. Where do you buy them, I do not know if any stores near me have them. Thanks for the tip, I really would like to try them.

I use my crockpot several times a week too and it is so mssy to clean. I have never heard of crock p[ot liners before and am so glad that you have mentioned them. I will call Rachel and ask her to pack some in her barrels for me. she is bringing home all her furniture etc and this would be easy to pack. Many thanks for this post!

I have used the crockpot bags for some time now. Before they came out I would take the oven roaster bags and cut them down the middle and use them as a crock pot liner. I'm for any thing to make my life easier. They have been out for some time but some stores were slow to get the in. Now I think one can get them almost anywhere

I got a sample of one of these and misplaced it. I really have to remember to look for them when I go to the store next. I am all about products that make any kind of clean up easy. Thanks for reminding me about them.
