HOW FAST IS YOUR internet connection??

i have only 128kbps, lot better than those old dial ups.but still i was wondering how fast can people have internet connection for home use. in our country we only have maximum of 256kbps.

We have a fast modem but my computer was really running slow. It took forever to load pages. I then learned that I needed to flush the ip addresses. That really helped the speed of my internet. I also learned to defragment my disk and do disk cleanup. Finally, running anti spyware and adware and then a good program like AVG really helped the speed of my computer. Sometimes these steps can really help enhance the overall speed of your computer.

sysdexlicwriter..that was very informative thank u for posting. i nver hear of flushing ip addresses.Can u explain in more detail?? i though i have 128kbps it isn't as fast as its supposed to be. maybe i have to do same like your to get the better peroformance... please help dude.

My cable company taught me this when my system was running slow. I don't know if this is a right explanation (not a computer geek) but I was told that when you are on the computer all the time on the internet your computer collects IP addresses and soon it has to churn through all the addresses every time it goes into the internet. When you flush the extra IP addresses that the computer has gathered over time it can run faster because it does not have to read through a whole list before it can respond. There are different ways to do this depending on your operating system. If you can tell me the operating system, I will try to give you the correct instructions to do this.

Well bro! I have the same internet connection like yours, i.e 128 kbps. You know how expensive is the internet in our country and we are lucky to have even this, isn't it. Let's hope that the price of the internet will fall down in the future and hope that we get the higher internet connection with the lower fees...

yeah your righ bro. at least we have this much. but its way expensvie. but nepal telecom never gives chances for other private companies to compete. they have just captured the business. there is no fair competition. if there were it would have been lot cheaper.

I use wireless broadband internet which run on HSDPA technology. Currently my isp claim their maximum speed is 3.6 Mbps. As long as i use it, i never got that speed. My average speed is 1 Mbps to 1.2 Mbps. But it quite enough so far and i think it's fast enough. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.
