i started doing yoga just like you.i bought one basic video showing how to begin and simple stretches.one can also look for simple beginning streaches in yogajournal website.u can see different stretches like standing stretches, sitting stretches, bending stretches and all.it is very useful.it also explains how the beginner can modify the stretches so that they can do it easily.i think this information helps you.all the best.

If you are just starting out and not so much of an exercise ninja, I find that Rodney Yee is the best for getting started with yoga. He is very easy to understand and moves at a rate that one can keep up with in A.M. Yoga and beginners yoga (His power yoga really gets going and I cannot keep up with it yet). I love how the A.M. Yoga and Beginner's Yoga by Rodney Yee works. I think these may be the same DVD essentially. These particular workouts make me feel energized in the morning: http://www.gaiam.com/product/yoga-studio/yoga-media/yoga-for-beginners/rodney+yee-s+yoga+for+beginners.do Here is a short sample of my favorite workout (it's mostly Rodney explaining the workout): http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1213888023 When you get into this site, look to your left and cursor down until you come to AM Yoga and then press that to see what AM Yoga for beginners is like. If you do not cursor down on the left menu, it will play the first on the list which is power Yoga (ouch). I received a DVD entitled "Yoga, beginner's experience" with the Yoga kit that I bought from my local store from the Gaiam company. I do not know if this kit includes the same DVD that I have but this is the basic workout kit (mat, block, strap, DVD(?) that I have. This kit is a great way to get started with all you need including the DVD. Happy Yoga experience to you: http://www.gaiam.com/product/yoga-studio/yoga-media/yoga-for-beginners/yoga+for+beginners+kit+with+new+props.do?search=basic&keyword=yoga+mat&sortby=bestSellers&page=5

I love yoga, I incorparate it into the rest of my ecercise routine. I loe the fact that my muscles get a really good stretch, which helps with my other exercise routine.

Yoga Pose - Yoga
I love yoga, it's very cleansing and relaxing for me. I would suggest trying to get the breathing right first, it's very important to breathe properly in order to achieve the best stretch in some positions. Also don't try and push yourself too much right away because you can pull muscles or liniments. There are probably some good videos out there on youtube for proper yoga breathing and beginners yoga. Have fun.
