home made candles

Does anyone make there own candles or candle melts? I love making them. I have been making some for the past couple of days. I have been having contest on gather for people to earn some of them. I think making candles is fun and creative to do. Its one of my hobbies besides making soap and candies.

I recently started making candles and I too enjoy it. I was wondering though, I cand't seem to get my scent as strong as I'd like it to be. Is there any secrets?

Depends on who you buy the scents from to scent your candles. Some companies can have very weak scents. I try to buy the best scents I can get my hands on. Then it only takes a couple drops from the scent to set it off. The same way with my soap making it don't take much to scent them either.

hi sb its a fantastic activity, I have tried it at home and its creative too one has much fun of the creation when one makes a candle from the wax burnt down. nice!

I have had 10 pounds of wax and some gel for a while now. I decided it was time to get started on my candle making again. I like collecting candles. I like it when my house smells really good when I am making the candles. Its very fun to do. Even candles I have bought I never throw them away. I can use the wax from them later.
