math, science and english were my favorite subjects at school, and in science i learned many things where i was able to use at home. but if i consider what subject have taught me a lot and have so many useful things in a day to day basis, it was home economics...
with home economics subject i learned to sew, cook, bake, gardening, i learned silk screen painting (i forgot if this is a part of HE, but i know this is one of those extra curricular subject)... the things i learned here i was able to use at home... for me this is the most useful subject at school

The home econ class I took in high school only covered cooking and sewing. But thanks to my lab partner in that class, I picked up some sign language. That has proven to be slightly helpful on occasion.

I will also choose Mathematics because it appears in a lot of things in daily life. When you go to the supermarket, you need Mathematics to help you understand whether the products are cheap or not after a series of "discounts" and repackaging.
Then you go to have a gathering and Mathematics help us deal with the share each of us should pay.
Maths help us to understand the world when there are many things that can be explained by it.

I have to say English was my favorite subject. If you know how to read then you know how to succeed. Math did not help me much in the real world except to know when some one had short changed me. The educational system is not teaching what needs to be taught, for instance if high school students learned how to balance a check book, or determine what the fine print meant on there credit card application they would not be in debt right out of college. If they were taught a little about accounting, assets, liabilities, bonds, and the stock market they would not be living pay check to pay check. Because of this lack of education the poor and middle class will always be poor and middle class and in debt, robbing paul to pay peter.

I would say that languages have been the most useful subjects for me. If I hadn't learned English in school I wouldn't have been able to travel around, to live abroad and to communicate with my friends from other countries. I would hate to miss out on those things, because I love travelling and I love to talking to people from many different countries.
Without English I wouldn't have been able to read and understand your question and I wouldn't have been able to reply. I am from a small country (Denmark) and it isn't possible to communicate with other countries in our local language, so we simply have to learn English, if we want to communicate with the rest of the world. I also studied German and French in school and that has been useful for me when I have travelled and lived abroad, but English is the language that I use the most.

For me the most useful subject for me in school is English and Mathematics. English because in our school there's a lot of Koreans so it is hard for us to communicate in Tagalog. And Mathematics because we use it everyday like in buying things we need math, managing our allowance we need math, and also simple things such as eating, breathing and walking we need math. Even though it is my worst subjects I consider it as the most useful subject in my school and also I don't want to have failing grades in this subject.

For me it's definitely maths. I do year ahead maths and it makes me look at everything differently. I was walking down the road one day with a group of mates and suddenly said. "hey guys see this triangle cut into the concrete... well i can figure out all the angles and lengths given only a few measurements" of course they hit me called me a nerd and told me to shut up but i don't care I'd like to see them do trigonometry. Hehe i also just love math aswell so teasing my friends with hard math problems is also a bonus.

The most useful classes for me were the basic composition classes, followed by the creative writing classes. I am a writer by accident, so anything that made my writing better helped. For subject matter to write on, economics have been the most useful. And I might end up using the skills I honed in the public speaking class someday. As for the rest of my classes, time will tell.

Well according to Time Mag the two most appealing subject nowadays are English and Computers because it is mainly needed in the workplace. So I think the most useful for me would be these two since English is the universal language and it's needed for globalization and of course you have to be computer-literate so as to keep up with the demands of the times. But personally, another useful subject for me would be "Art" despite the recession, because in some way it develops my appreciation and understanding of the world

Well, out of the basic subjects, math is the most useful, I think.
However, among all of my classes, Engineering Design was the best, because the stuff we learned in that class really helped me get ahead later.

As an Information Technolgy student I thought that Computer Programming are the most useful subject but as I realize when I am applying a job, the most important subject is Math and Enlish because there is always an exam before you get hired.

The most useful subject I've had? Hmm. I can just say that Filipino subjects are not that useful. :D Other subjects were really helpful. Especially Science, English and Math.
