Who taught you?
I started a few years before I graduated from college. We needed to use make-up for some of our presentations and classes, and since I was a business major, I had to know how to use them.
After college, I was required to use them too because I became a presenter and we needed to look fresh and good every time.
I actually taught myself. I researched, and did trial and testing. Though I've seen my mom put make-up on a lot, we had different tastes in make-up. But we did share make-up that time.
A few years however, I stopped using make-up. It was because I was so irritated at myself when I lost all my make-up when I left it in a cab I took that rainy night! Arrrgghhh... I just recently started collecting once again, but the pain of losing that still haunts me.
How about you? When did you start and who taught you?

hello laydee, i started having it i think when i was still on grade school because during that time i remember joining some beauty contests and make up is needed but just a little...
when i was in highschool again i have it at prom but i really started using it on my own i guess when i enter college. its the time when i bought my own lipsticks.
when i'm already working i don't use it that much, a lipstick, an eye liner and a little blush is enough for me. but all in all i can't live without a lipstick!

The last time that i used make up was a bout a few hours ago before i went to work. but after two hours of traffic, because of class opening day for elementary students. i came to the office look like a semi-clown in a party that i had to redo all of my make up. luckily, my friend helped me out since i forgot to log-in..

i've always loved reading and that included fashion magazines. i read about the different makeup products...till i discovered that the eyeliner was the cheapest and skin friendly makeup i could squeeze from my college allowance .

i started trying to use a make-up when i was still 10 years of age. at our school programs and dances wherein i am also part of it. that's the time that i have tried using such things. but by now, i am not that good or what i mean i don't really like using make up except for the lipsticks and the blush on. so that i won't look so pale in our office.
thanks friend

Hello laydee. I started using make-up when I was in high school. My mom bought me a make-up kit made for teens. I started experimenting in putting make-up. I look at my classmates for inspiration on how to apply make-up. Every time I look at people who knows how to apply make-up, it helps me to learn more.

I'll never forget my first peice of makeup was in the 6th grade. The entire female student body had "Kissing Potion" by Maybelline. It was clear lip gloss that came in tasteable flavors. Mine's was spearmint. We would put so much on that the shine would reflect in the teacher's eyes.lol. I didnt wear foundation or anything until I began 8th grade. My parents didnt want it but I must admit I would do it when I got to school. When I reached high school, that's when I began to really develop a look. I went thru phases. Sometimes a little and other times I went for a more shocking look. I would say that I liked my styles. I watched my aunts and other girls do it. My mom was cool too. She didnt necessarily wear the same way as I did. SHe did teach how makeup was worn when she was my age. That is why I experimented with different tecniques. dl

I started to learn about make-up from last term, however, I just use make-up at weekands when I go out. In most cases, using make-up is just a way to have some fun when I feel boring and want to do something to amuse myself. I guess in the next term I will use make-up more often because I will be on the threshold of graduation and start to hunt for my first job.

I was taught a few things when I had to start wearing stage makeup in middle school for my plays... and then my mother taught me how to wear regular everyday type stuff. At first I thought it was too much and I got really uncomfortable about lots of things... but over time I got used to it and figured out what I liked and what I didn't... And now I love playing around with both everyday stuff and stage makeup. :)

I taught myself to apply makeup. However, I was not allowed to wear makeup until 8th grade. At first, my attempts were shoddy with extreme eye shadows and sets that qualified me for rocky horror. But as i grew up, my mother let me use her Mary Kay she was selling. Mascara and eyeliner became a must when i left the house.
Livejournal communities peaked my interest in MAC makeup. I began to wear MAC sophomore year of high school. the finish and setting on the face incredible. it allows for wonderful design and a dollface finish.
I did always struggle with waterproof!! tears, sweat, concerts, sports, beaches, pools, etc cause me the droppy blackeye runny face.
other than the wetdog look, to set a killer appearance to work, lipgloss is a must. I used to think natural was the way to be, but there are days when i need to primp and prime:)

Middle School.
Even though I really didn't need it, considering I didn't have any problems with my face..acne, etc.
I wore quite a lot though!
