Title says it all, is there a God? Or was it just someone who was bored one day and decided to make up a religion. I myself and a Christian and say, yes, there is a God. But I would like to hear other peoples thoughts about this longer than life question. Is there a God? It doesn't just have to be from Christian viewpoints but from other religious viewpoints as well.

I do believe there is God up there. Why wouldn't I? As a moslem I have the faith that God rules the world and the universe. Christian, Moslem, Jewish are all from the same root. We don't need to argue more that these 3 big religions believe in one mighty God. Moslems are told by the Koran that "my religion is for me and your religion is for you". Peace!

Yes,There is a God.I believe it because I have seen many proof like the creation of heaven and earth.Of course, there is creator. No body could do like that.No body can create human's brain and the ways of working brain. So,we couldn't refuse god's existence.

Thanks for your input, it seems silly for people to deny his existence like how you used the example of the human brain, just how complex it is I just love thinking about how complex it is and how none of this could even hope to be an accident.

Yes I believe that there is a God. We may experience a lot of problems in our life but I know God has his own reasons. I have a lot of problems right now. Things are not easy for me. Sometimes i even hate my life but i know God has his own reason why Im experiencing all these things. Maybe I just been so bad that's why all these bad thing are happening to me. Whatever you do to others will be done to you. There is also a day that God is so good. When I was so down I passed by in a chapel and stayed there for and hour and half. I was just praying and talking to him like he's in front of me. I tell him everything I tell him why I was like that, why I hate someone. And I apologized to him sincerly. The next day I felt that God gave me what I prayed for. I can feel his presence in times that i need him the most. But life is just not easy to give us everything we want. He may not give everthing we think we need, only few that's best for us. Because if he will provide us every good things we will not learn to sacrifice, to give, to forgive, to wait, etc. God knows what's best for us we just have to trust in him.

I am in 2 minds I dont dis-believe or believe I am a rational thinker and like to look at the facts etc etc and there is nothing that can be proven one way or another. The bible is man made and translated through the ages, with bits added and bits taken away. Theres a multitude of different gods if god was real there would only be one god the greeks worship gods for everything war, sea, love etc etc, druids worship nature and the plants and animals as god, all faiths have their own god surely if there was god then it would be a standard god, like david beckham theres only one david beckham there isnt a black beckham and a white beckham and a muslim beckham if you understand my point. Once there is proof either way then I will be a happy man there are just too many unanswered questions for me to say there is a god, I think life is more down to evolution than anything else and natural selection. Hope no offence has been taken as I do find most religious people seem to get offended when there opposing points raised and that isn't my intention to offend merely to put my unanswered queries across.

YES there is God i.e. if you believe in it, but people can believe anything. If god is someone who's going to take away your sorrow just by magic then i don't believe there's such a god. But again believing helps a lot. It brings about changes in their manners and behaviors and on conscious mind but deep inside they are still same person with hate, anger, lust...etc. People who don't believe in god can also bring about those same changes by listening inspirational lectures. So it doesn't matter if there is god or not. What really matters is to cure our unconscious mind from hatred and fill it with compassionate love. And god just won't do that for us. IF there is hatred in you, there isn't god inside you, you haven't see him isn't that so. If he could and if he's there he would have just done that, because he love everyone doesn't he. It all depends upon us, we are to free ourself from our own sorrow, and we are so lazy that we want someone else to take away our sorrow. Maybe this is why someone fancy GOD to make it easier to remove unwanted thought from our mind, told everyone that there's god in every person so that they wont hurt anyone, told to believe god so it would be easier to remove unwanted thoughts. Actually there is written scriptures in Sanskrit (ancient scripture in India) about people creating god just to do so. It isn't popular because concept of existence of god ruled out. It says Reeshi(Hindu saints with orange robes and long hair describes best to everyone I suppose)are the scientists who does research about human psychology, and to ways to remove anger, lust, hatred though now it's a different scenario. They created concepts of creating god as to keep people civilized and mannered. Later they found perfect way to uproot unwanted thoughts i.e. Vipashana But time and again people forgot about Vipashana teaching. But time and again people rediscovered this method. And most recently it was discovered by GAUTAMA BUDDHA. He got enlighten and HELPED people enlighten by teaching Vipashana. Most Hindu won't agree that there isn't god just like most Christians, but the fact is Hinduism back in those days were way different then now, and way back there was just religion(Dharma) they didn't named the religion and religion had vast meaning which is way hard to exactly explain it in English cause English was just born yesterday. Anyway religion (dharma) is just like principle or rules or property. Everyone and everything in the world is governed by their own dharma. Man has their dharma animals and their own dharma and water, stone, electricity, fire everything has their own dharma. Dharma (religion-literally)now is taken more like sectarian or group of people believing certain act of faith or performing this and that rituals thus creating confusions. (Buddha-enlightened one, believed this sort of confusion would arise, so he told his followers to worship or respect or to follow only enlightened(Buddha) one. He didn't preach to worship GAUTAMA Buddha in his prayers but simply Buddha and Buddha can be of any sectarian or of any background.) But anyway dharma of stone is heaviness, it sinks in water, dharma of water is to flow it freezes when below zero degree centigrade. Dharma of human being is their ability to think logical unlike other animals, with ability to distinguish wrong from right; they can control their emotions. And so it is said only human beings can get rid of their sorrow on their own effort. So this is about religion and it wasn't created but discovered, or people became aware about religion(dharma). But the religion in a sense of sectarian or group of people having faith in this and that person were created by people. People became fan of certain person and they opened the fan club, religion today is of that sort. well hope it helped you, the other perspective to look at things anyway as always HAPPY MYLOTTING!!!!

This seems to be the best explanation on the concept of God and religion. In the ancient time, People considered many things as god than now. For example even the wind that blows was considered as the god of wind. Because people didn't know the cause of wind was for the balancing of the air pressure. So, the wind god disappeared with the scientific fact about the cause of wind. When people couldn't get the real answer about the facts, they finally thought the ultimate answer is God. And currently too, people believe that the creation of life is due to God, because they don't have the right answer. And so, I say the god is the probable truth, but not the 100 percent true answer. One day, the truth beyond God may also come true for this. So I think, its wise to find answers among one self life acisMahrje mentioned. This helps in developing the insights and our capacity to know about the realities.

I believe in God..my life wouldnt be complete if i dont have God..I am here because of Him. If other ppl ask you give them a proof, im sure its hard to give a proof..its hard to give a spiritual proof in our physical bodies, right?..so just tell them to try it for themselves..Have a nice day..:D

I have to agree with you that it is VERY hard to prove that he is real. And you have also offered a solution. Try it for themselves, and if they're still having troubles believing then that's their fault. And they're missing out! Thanks for your comment.

Hello Korath, Welcome to the mylot discussions. I hope you will have a lots of fun here... There probably may be God, and this doesn't mean that There is god. For me the concept of the God is the relative truth, not the absolute truth. There was a time when I was a small, my parents say there is God I use to think of it as real. But today my perceptions doesn't allow me to think that there is definitely a god. The relative truth may change with time with my perceptions and so I say, the god is the relative truth not the absolute truth. Personally, I am not the Christian, though born in Hindu family, I don't believe in Hindu god either. I believe more towards Buddha's teachings, his sayings. The Christians are strictly ordered to believe that there is God, today for the first time I read the ten commandments in life and knew the reason why the Christians strictly believe in God. I know, in Christianity, even the question you are rising, i.e suspection in the existence of God is even a sin. But I am not a Christian, and in my opinion for me, to say that is not a sin. Happy mylotting...

I have one simple question. Exactly how many "Is there a God?" discussions do we have on MyLot now? By the way, yes, I do believe there's a Triune God.

I believe there's a God. The Almighty God. No doubt for trust The God. People who don't believe in God is just stupidity. No one can help to believe the God unless come from their own faith. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Hi there, I am not religious; yet, I believe there is a Higher force, which I choose to call All That Is that is out there. I do not see All That Is as a force that orchestrates everything in our lives, but as a part of us. I believe that we are all gods that chose to be born to live a physical experience. We are all One and we are all creators. I believe God is everything and everywhere, in each and every one of us, and that Heaven and Hell are basically what we make out of this thing called ''life'' on Earth, living as physical beings. Blessings to you!

Thanks for your post, it's always great to hear from different people and their different views. I like how you think that we are all gods and that we chose to be born and to like in a physical body, I'm sure some agree, and disagree with you. But thanks for expressing your opinion!

Do you want see the god, you can do that if you can go or fly up to seven sky above us, the name is "sidratul muntaha". In there you will see the god that created your face and all of life. We too small to see the god. But we can feel god from all about something that the gods created. for example is you. And who can go to seven of sky? the time if you turn around world is need full years, but we will meet the god if we dye and life again, you will be placed 1 on 2 place, hell or heaven. if you good human, you will placed in heaven, if you adult man, hell is place for you. you have to believe god, if you dont believe, hell with eat you like a banana. hell is very badly place to go back. we will forever in there...hell or heaven.
