I just had a few chitchat with my landlady while I was doing laundry at home..
She told me about her husband job which is working in a government to be specific it's in BIR ( Bureau of Internal Revenue). I really don't know about the detail much but according to her, her husband got a job because they paid the position for more than $1000 dollars I was really shocked because she was so proud of telling me that. She also mentioned that her husband had a friend and he was also manage to get a position in the same establishment is it fair to every individual who is working too hard and had high scholastic records which I believe deserve the position compare to them? And her husband also told her that they can actually manipulate the tax of some individual if they can give something in return but not to the extent that someone will notice it..just a little portion of it..but even though it's a small amount it's still their obligation to pay the whole amount that they should be paying. Am i right? And you know what the sad part of it? her husband told me that it's nice working because you work late and you can also go home early...and doing nothing..OHh I can't believe that there are really lazy people who instead work fairly and with honesty because they are paid to work..but they are just wasting the money that the government paid for them.
Well actually we came up to that discussion because I told my landlady that I want to work in a government agency...that's how it's started.
So my question is, Why can't the government trace all their activities and why not implement the time in and time out using finger scan every time they come to work just to make sure that they are really working 8 hours a day. And do you think it's really fair? Then why not start eradicate those people who's not doing their job then.

I'm not from your country but I have heard about stuff like that in your country. Positions are 'inherited', from the father to the son, or even bought. Skills don't seem to have much to do with it.
Now seeking or receiving a bribe... well I think you can find that pretty much in every country. There is always that one (or more) rotten apple in the bunch.
It's all that that gives government employees a bad rap;)

You could do something about it by becoming politically active and by running for office. If you manage not to succumb to the temptation of corruption and bribery that so many of the elected officials fall pray to and you manage to maintain a clean plate so to speak, then you might be able to not only lead by example but also lobby for and implement regulations and laws that would prevent this kind from nepotism from happening.

Yes, you are certainly correct. It's very common here in our country
but I want to do something for the better..
and wondering how can I do that if there's no unity in nation.. It's more
difficult. How I wish I have a super power to correct things in this world.

Sadly, the employment system here is already rotten especially in the government. I don't think there's redemption there unless people within the government are willing to make a change. I don't think they care much about it anymore because they're pretty much busy doing something else and that's to make much money while doing nothing. It's not policy anymore but tradition.

Yeah that's what i thought but why people keep on contradicting, throw up some bad words to every politician or politician to politician instead initiate changes starting with themselves. And how ironic that they are fighting against corruption with their colleague where they are also doing it right?

Government positions...........
Hello ccarabuena....
Fair or not fair that is just the way the government do things. It's probably also the reason why this country is trillions of dollars in debt. They would say that it would become to costly to try to implement a finger scan to clock people that are coming in and going out. Might as well face it, the government are always the ones that are on top of the people. And there is no way that you can beat that system. That is why sometime I will be real happy when God comes back and take over this world, then and only then will the government be run appropriately. Happy mylotting...........

You are correct! I know that the time we were born we already owe money..
and that's because our government always loan or watever they call it in world bank..
They're doing "projects" as they say but there's always have share for themselves.
So selfish..they are just thinking for themselves and not the effect of doing it.
Sigh! I can now imagine what will be the government looks like, or the economy per say
if this will continue to happen.
