Are you afraid to ride a public vehicle?

Hi again I don't know why but when I encountered a bad experience from riding a public vehicle I become afraid since then. I just won't trust people because nowadays because you won't really know who has bad motives or who has not. Besides I rarely ride a public vehicle when I go to school so every time there's a need for me to commute I am just not used to it. How about you?

Well there's a bit of tension whenever i ride a public vehicle. I need to be be always on-guard especially when they brought me to Manila. I really don't know how people behave in a manner which makes it difficult for me to suspect. I need to tap my phones and wallet on my jeans from time to time. lol! The scary part is riding a jeepney with few passengers on board. I think it's an invitation for hold uppers to execute their plan. I guess i have to wait for my next payout so i can buy a car of my own. lol!

Riding public vehicles like bus are a better option because there will be lot of public and though people with bad intentions are there its safe to ride such vehicles. Taking cab may not be a better option though.

You should pray a lot, be cautious around you and ask Jesus Christ to cover you with His precious blood because it really works. Devils and other evil elements are afraid of His blood take care and thanks for responding

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience from riding public vehicle. So far for me, besides the human jam, I'm fine with the public vehicle. I still rather to ride public vehicle sometimes since it's not that high cost. I will do that only when go back hometown. In normal days like working, or go to the nearby area, I will just drive. That will more convenient.

It's inevitable not to ride in a public vehicle, we always commute in order to reach the places we are bound to. I just do a lot of prayers, before riding and while on the way. For us to have a safe travel and to keep us away from people with bad intentions. Jeepneys and buses are much cheaper so we prefer to ride with them instead of taxi. If you want a little comfort however, with aircon and with limited passengers around then we may take a van at a resonable fare of course.

Hi ;) I usually take airconditioned bus or van when I'm commuting. That makes me comfortable and more at ease while on my way to school. Indeed it's inevitable and we just need to pray a lot and be cautious of people around us. Thanks for the response and take care.

I wonder if aircrafts is one kind of public vehicles or not. I have suffered a very heavy traffic accident when I was in a car, whick made me nervous when on journey either in car or in aircraft. Today I have read a news that an France airline plane with more than 200 persons missed strangely from the radar screen. May God Bless Them.

I know what exactly you are talking about. Here in India one can hardly go anywhere without the public transport...oil is so expensive, very few can afford their own vehicles. So I use the public transport whenever I have to go out. One thing good for me is that my office is very nearby so I dont have to use the crowded buses regularly, but whenever I have to do, its a complete nightmare. One incident I remember distinctly was when I was at school...I was just walking by to the bus stop...the streets were quite empty it being a Sunday afternoon. Some loafers had passed some lewd comments and I had talked back and they were following me...I was of course getting quite scared and hopped on to the first bus that came my way. Imagine my horror when the boys hopped in too and started threatening me...luckily for me the driver was middle aged and quite robust and he just scared them away by threatening to pull the bus to the nearest police station...that got them and they just jumped off! Well, one good thing in all the mess of public transport.

Tsk tsk you should really take care and pray. And you should learn self-defense so that the next time they did that you can control them. Thanks for the response and take care

I live in a small town where everybody knows everybody. The bus drivers on the most part have all been driving for as long as I can remember. Even after I'd been gone for 10 years; the first time I took a bus on my return, the driver still remembered my name and asked about my dad and sister by name as well. I have absolutely no fear of our bus system here and I'd rather my children take the transit rather than walk around town. Everytime I stop to chat with a driver he'll mention "oh I took your son to the skatepark a few days ago". Everyone kind of watches out for everyone.

We just have the pedicab as our public transpo in our place, and it's relatively safer, except when it's night time and you're alone. One has to avoid commuting during evenings to avoid untoward incidents. We don't really take the pedicab to and from school or my place of work. Fortunately, we're blessed with private vehicles and we drive using those, so no worry really. However, in very rare cases, riding the pedicab is still safe, so there's no worry about one's safety. Our place is a quiet, small city minus the traffic and major crimes, so we feel much safer compared to big cities.

However I just could not avoid to go home early because I'm busy with my extra-curricular activities and I have afternoon classes so it's really inevitable.. I guess prayer is just the best weapon to stay away from these things. Thanks for the response

Well I thank the Lord that I don't need public transporation to get around. I would feel weird until I would get to know the route I needed to take to get to my destinations. There are weird people everywhere and we all just need to be more observent of our surroundings.

That was primarily one of the reasons why I wanted to buy a car when I get my first job. Not for show off but because it's a necessity. It's really dangerous here in our place especially if you go home at night. Thanks for the response and take care.

That's tragic, but to have a great interaction to the world, commuting in public is just needed. Its may be you are not used to be when going in public. You should have to have self confidence to be riding public vehicles. Awareness to time, distance and type of occasion when commuting is important just likely its the start of classes. I love to explore and even had that bad experience, nothing is worth than having it experienced.

Sure I love commuting. However what I just don't like about it are these bad things. These bad people should learn their lesson.

Hi! I have many bad experience with riding the public vehicle, but I still ride them anyway cause I really don't have a choice. LOL. The thing is though, I think I am just more aware now with my surrounding, specially those who are seated near me, specially if it is a guy.

I don't afraid to ride a public vehicle, it is commone in China to take a bus to work or to school. Most of families can't afford a personal car. But I don't like taking bus. the smell is bad in summber, and it is too cold in winter. and there are theives on bus, so I have to keep my wallet and mobile carefully.

Don't you have other means of transportation to go to school? Maybe you can ride an airconditioned bus. It's safer than the ordinary bus where thieves just jump in and jump out after they got your things. Tsk tsk.. too bad with these people.. they should really learn their lessons..

Its better to raise your voice if you came across a man with bad intension.I am scared of public vehicle too.In fact had to travel by a bus sometime. And I hate traveling in a crowded bus. I prefer taking my scooter but always it doesn't work if the distance is too far.

I think the best thing to do in riding a public vehicle would be to be cautious around you and always take care of your things because you never really know who has bad motive. and remove all those jewelries because it might attract the bad people.. you should also not act lady-like and show them you're tough so they will get scared instead. always look around people and always pray. take care and God bless ;)

I'm not afraid, but rather cautious. Since the days of the Spaniards, our country have been labeled "land of the thieves". They're probably right in saying that. I've been robbed in a public jeepney and bus, four times already. They took my watch, cellphone, laptop and money. These robbers will search your pockets to get your goodies. And this is why it makes my day whenever I see some robbers getting shot or caught and beaten up in the news. We all know that times are hard, but don't steal on your brother's hard earned belongings.

Tsk tsk.. Too dangerous.. You should always pray.. It really works and be really careful with people around you. Look around people and be really cautious as you'll never really know who has bad motive or not. These people should really learn their lesson. Or you can study self-defense..

I don't have any problems with public transport. There are of course that many people with bad intentions but then not everybody is that bad. In fact, most people are ok that they just don't do good things rather than really doing something bad. Could you share with us what bad experience you have had that make you not comfortable with public transport?

I've always been nervous about public transportation. I'd prefer to walk or drive any time that I could. I've heard too many stories and don't want to put myself into any situations. Where I live it's not a big option though. I've only had to use public transportation once or twice.

Whenever I go out, I often ride public vehicles because our own vehicle is used by my father in going to work. I go to places by means of public transportation except if there is a vehicle owned by the person I am with when going to places. Maybe because I have been used to it, I am not that scared although it really is scary, but because I try to say myself that I would be safe, and I make it look that I am not the type to harm, I always get by and arrive home safe.
