Many people having the same problem about egg and confuse too. For me, don't think about one paradigma (vegetarian-not vegetarian) but change your thinking. I'm vegetarian for 8 years. I don't eat egg not because vegetarian-not vegetarian, but eggs become from animal, we don't eat animal. I belief egg is not vegetarian food, so don't eat egg if you are vegetarian. It's depend on your believe to know some food are vegetarian-not vegetarian. Make sure you make your own food/meal.

There are different classifications of vegetarians. Vegans do not eat any kind of product that comes from an animal, so vegans do not eat eggs or anything that has eggs in it. Lacto-ovo vegetarians do not eat meat or meat by-products, but will eat milk and eggs. The reason for this is that the production of milk and eggs for human consumption does not involve killing animals. So whether or not it's ok to eat eggs depends on what type of vegetarian you want to be.
