a toothbrush within 6 feet of a toilet can get airborne bacteria from flushing.

Oh really? I don't know that but I never keep my tooth brush in washroom. I have a feeling that the bad smell and other air will be on those brushes but your discussion proved that bacteria will take rest on our brushes while flushing the toilets.

Yes I know this that is why when I flush the toilet the cover comes down first. I think those I have always done that because if you flush with the cover up I was always afraid the water might splash upward. Gross.
