Our company imported a sophisticated manchine two years ago, but it didn't work well since the firs day. And I'm in charge of running this manchine. One day I found out there's something wrong of the connection between the controlling computer and the PLC, so I contacted the supplier for help. The supplier asked me to replace the Network Cable, I did it, but still problem unsolved. So I was told to replace the Network Card, this Networkd Card is very expensive because it has some special functions. To save money for my boss, I tested the Card on my office computer to connect Internet with the same Network Cable mentioned above, and it worked well. So I told the supplier that both the Cable and the Card could work, but It just didn't work when using on that manchine. And also the PLC was OK according to the supplier's analysis. So the supplier told us an engineer would come to repair it because he was just going to our country a few weeks later. He took a new Cable and a New Card with him, and we found out that replacing either the Card or the Cable could remove the problem. So we replace the Cable only, because a Cable is nearly no cost for us. But since then, my boss is very unhappy when I ask for replacing some part of the manchine. He would say "Don't you remember? We would have wasted a lot of money if we had replaced the Card instead of the Cable last time." He thought it was the supplier who saved money for him, while I was just a waster of money. In fact, it was me who saved money for him last time. I use this manchine only a few times each year, but I face problems almost every time when I use it. So I have to replace here and there from time to time. This annoying manchine even make me want to quit my job to avoid seeing my boss'long face. What would you do if you were me?
