Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working

I have been getting a lot of messages here lately that say "Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working." Under this, it will say "Windows can check online for a solution to the problem." Under this line, it will say "Check online for a solution and close the program." The last line says "Close program." Could this mean that I'm infected with a virus? What can I do about this problem?

my computer started doing the same thing aweek ago i have no idea why this is happening to me either.
Maybe we'll be able to figure out something. Kathy.

I have at&t antivirus program but it always asks me to insert a cd in my cd rom when I start to scan my computer. I don't have one, though. I just got this program a few days ago. I'll have to call them about the cd. I used to have McAfee but it didn't remove all of my viruses. I'll try updating the at&t antivirus and see if that makes any difference. as the intergration system in firefox is giving more easily to browse internet and to load the pages quickly. so internet exploer may not found all time
