Hi my name is Mohan Kumar and I'm a retired Bank manager from the largest banking group in India. I have 13 years of experience in International Trade that is Exports and Imports.Foreign trade is a vast and interesting subject it gives insight into the trade practices of different countries across the globe their trade policies, regulations and various other factors involved in the trade. You should familiarize yourself with the UCPDC norms URC 600 by ICC Paris, get to know about the different modes of transportation air, sea and land. You can feel free to mail for any assistance and information.

This is your first job? I thought this was your first year in college on Foreign Trade :P I misinterpreted what you meant by "freshman".
I don't know much about foreign trade except that you have to know the laws regarding international trades. Those you can find on your government site. And on academic books or even on Wikipedia. Trades between different countries are different because of various reasons and circumstances.
You also have to be well versed on the politics between countries in order to understand your job better.
How did you get the job if you don't know what to do?
Thanks for the response on my discussion :)
