I know as we age our tastes change quite a bit. I recall when I was a kid I loved to watch the old re-runs on saturday afternoons of black & white movies.... mainly things like Ma & Pa Kettle, Blondie & Dagwood, 3 Stooges shorts, Bob Hope ect I thought they were hilarious. Now I watch them and go ok it's not that funny anymore to me. I used to like watching "brat pack" movies too when I was a teen, but by then they were pretty old too though I could still relate to a few like the Breakfast Club. So now that I'm in my 30's I like action movies, and some family & comedy movies. THough the comedy I"m usually a very tough sell on what will make me laugh. Have you every noticed your shift in liking certain types of movies from say when you were younger to now?

When I was young I used to watch all the old movies on nick at night. I dream of jeanie and bewitched were my favorites. I also watched my cartoons and enjoyed those. I liked more horror movie and comedies as a teenager. Now I still love my comedies, but it takes a lot for me to really enjoy a horror movie. I still like the more suspensefl type. The gore with no story is beyond me though.

Not really. I've always enjoyed comedy with a happy ending. Not stupid comedy, I really hate those movies like Dumb and Dumber. I've always hated horror, especially those with gore and creepiness like zombies and junk, ew!

Goodness, I'm in my fifties now. When I was a child I saw what was showing, having no DVD or even VCR. And six years was spent in Germany where there were only a few channels (no UHF, "ultra-high frequency," channels 13 to I forget how high, I think in the 60's somewhere ... - it was only used in the United States that I know of) Walked to school in the snow, too, though I wasn't barefoot So my movie preferences were defined only when I turned adult. The one thing I was always fascinated with was animation. My first computer animation short I saw was in the mid-seventies. No, it wasn't 3d - it was just a way to morph 2d lines to another position. It wasn't as impressive as it is now. I don't remember the title, but my first adult animation was either in 1976 or 1977, the title containing "Wizards" - unfortunately I have not been able to find it. I did acquire another animation feature on DVD, "Heavy Traffic" from about the same time period. Both were the traditional 2d type, but still, Road Runner and Wiley Coyotee it is definitely not. I am irritated with horror films today. They shock people by having the music go way down in volume, or get totally quiet; then a shadow flashes in the background, with a loud "BANG" of orchestral music, making every one jump... A shadow in the background is NOT scary, and having everyone jump at such a mundane event ... I think it cheapens the film, personally. Comedy is my second choice, though Star Wars was a nice distraction. Then came Harry Potter - the first movie I saw after I read the book (and unfortunately I did it with Angels and Demons - the book is better) But with Potter I wasn't disappointed. Good movie, mind you, (that is, Angels and Demons) - I didn't fall asleep like I did with "DaVinci Code" - twice. I suppose they had to hurry the plot along with time constraints ... Perhaps I need to give a caveat here. I don't watch television. Too many bloody channels and no quality to boot (well, maybe I would like History and Discovery channels, and any channel that would show older, foreign, or non-blockbuster movies) and too expensive for my taste.

I can't say that my tastes have changed that much, just perhaps gotten more sophisticated. I never much cared for 3 Stooges, didn't ever see the Ma and Pa Kettle movies or Blondie and Dagwood. I do find I have less tollerance for physical comedy, but I never had much to begin with. I have always like science fiction movies, and while many used to be crossed with horror, I have no interest in today's horror movies, I don't like blood and "got cha's." Again, that is nothing new. I probably find the one movie genre that I used to watch that I can still enjoy are the old westerns, like Roy Rogers, they can just be very sweet and never made much sense anyway.

I'm not really sure. I know my taste in reading materials tends to change, so I'd assume that my taste in films would too. However, I do tend to watch stuff from pretty much any genre, so it's hard to tell.

I am only fourteen and my preferences in movies and TV has changed drastically. when i was 7 i would love anything that had to do with spongebob, Now i just don't see the comedy of it. Now i love discovery channel, specifically Myth busters (they can make any myth explosive). So even in my life so far i can see huge changes on that subject.

I can't necessarily say that my taste in movies has changed, but I can say that my taste in movies has broadened. I've always enjoyed the typical action movies and the comedies (and even the stupid comedies like Dumb and Dumber) but I've grown to love movies about history or war or anything with a mystery in it. One day I'll feel like watching a very serious movie, the next day I'll tap into the archives and watch Mrs. Doubtfire.
