Why do they give disclaimer clauses in almost every TV serial?

Before start or at the end I often see and wonder why do they give disclaimer clause, are they not sure of themselves that the content is original or fake, Does it hurt anybodys sentiments or they wish it intentionally. Then why this disclaimer an avoidable pass!

I think it might be because they have a shorter show? I am not really sure, probably so no one rips off their ideas since it seems we are running out of ideas for TV shows! I hope we finally come around and get some better shows, most of them are very stupid!
