For me, it's got to be the character of Linda Blair in The Exorcist. It's been haunting me for years up to now. I just can't take the image of that creature on my mind. The scary thing about it is, it's satanic in nature. It's not psychotic or mutated monster. I just can't watch the film without feeling scared. Michael Myers and Freddy or Jason just don't scare me.

Right I have the same feeling.. because the difference between the others and Linda Blair it's that her case can happen in reality... that's what I think it makes it more scary...

I'm not big on horror movies and try to avoid them but my boyfriend and his mom (who's one of my best friends) love them and have convinced me to watch a few with them.
I think the scariest would have to be either the girl in The Ring or the little kid in The Grudge. Both of those made me shudder.

Actually it's scary but what scares me the most are the faces of her victims..

Unfortunately, I have yet to find a horror movie that I really thought was scary but as far as the "monsters" go my favorite is Michael Meyers/The Shape from Halloween (John Carpenter's Halloween not Rob Zombie's).
The fact that Freddy Krueger was inspired by Wes Craven's real nightmares makes him a little more creepy than if he was just invented but still, for me, too over the top to be anything but silly.
In a lot of my favorite horror movies the "villain" is also the victim. Carrie, Firestarter, Rosemary's Baby, the Exorcist... I'm not a big fan of the slasher sub-genre.

This is a difficult question to answer, but I might have to go with Michael Meyers from Hallowee,n.

I have to agree with another user that its Candyman.....i saw the first movie when I was like 17 and it scared me and made me feel creepy and scared whenever i was by the medicine cabinet/mirror of apartments that were connected together like in the movie...there was one time on during a halloween party that was in an apartment like that and my friends dared me to say "candyman" three times, but i wouldn't do it,,,,all of the bloody costumes and the few cocktails just made me scared and i remembered how frightening Candyman was

Samara from the ring is pretty scary. My step daughter can do the thing with her hair and the creepy walk lol. I think michael meyers is a good one too. It's always more creepy when they never talk. I loved the new one rob zombie did though. It gave so much insight into him.
