I dont know, I like UFC alot have been to a few live events...but then again Pride is also really good...I think that Pride is probably slightly better based on the fact that there are some things allowed in Pride that arent in the UFC. I think UFC is just a lot more popular. But now that pride has come to the US that could def change.

yeah it will change but not as much though i think, pride will have the same rules as UFC so no kicking, kneeing in the head while the person is down and few others, what i like about pride is that if the match is slow and looks like they are just holding each other, pride gives the fighters a yellow card! meaning one more they will take some of thier purse away

Yeah I was actually wondering if the rules would change once they started having more shows in the states. There were a few local shows that were postponed here in my area because the city thought there would be too much violence OUTSIDE of the ring. It's a shame, one of my favorite fighters was on the card & I really wanted to see him. I hope they dont change it but we shall see. Im crossing my fingers to go to the next Pride in Vegas come Feb of 07 but I dunno air fare & hotels its gettin pricey. Tickets alone are costing me a fortune haha I may just stick to PPV.

let me help you..Pride is better than UFC (period)..better in the sense that is has better (or best) MMA fighters than UFC (really big difference), it has more intensity than UFC...Have you heard the names "Fedor Emelianenko, Mirko Crocop, Rodrigo Noguiera, Sakuraba, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman". Their are monumental in MMA today. Watching them would really sweep your feets off. If you dont get to watch Pride, got to Youtube and search fedor, crocop or pride..great matches & latest fights are uploaded.
Just think of this...UFC champ Tim Sylvia is afraid to face PRide Champ Fedor Emelianenko ... see
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jESfadAYOJ0
i bet even crocop can knock Tim sylvia...now whose organization has better fighter??
i know you love UFC, sorry, but this is only to share my view on whose more superior.

i admit that too. Chuck lidell was ask will he fight vandervile silva ( sorry dont know how to spell his name) and said he will only fight one round with him. he challenge chuck to a fight. Now pride is trying to make it in the states but they will have the same rules as UFC does though. So time will tell though.

Tim Sylvia is SO afraid to fight any REAL good fighters becuase he knows he doesn't stand a chance. When he recently went up aganst Monson he was scared! HE was afraid to go for it & afraid to throw, he knew if monson got him down on the ground Monson could take it from him. He's just a big ole oaf, if this fight in Ohio really does go down Brandon Vera is going to give him a run for his money. Vera has AWESOME knees and standing as tall as he is...he is seriously going to make Tim work for it. I dont think Sylvia is fast enough to take Vera. I love the UFC...because I started watching it FIRST...but I watching more and more Pride and I do agree they have some better fighters. But I still watch more UFC. Plus the fact that there are more UFC events in California make it better to see one live, BUT Pride is also doing more fights in Vegas so thats a plus. Gomi & Rua are a few of my favorites!

I love the UFC! We have been fans since UFC 1 and Joyce Gracie. We used to be able to rent the fight (after it was released) from Blockbuster and then they stopped carrying them so we now get them on Pay Per View. Tonight we already ordered the fight. I am SO hoping that GSP (George St Pierre) takes it over Matt Hughes. I think Tim Sylvia will take it over the snowman too.

i think both ufc and pride are good, pride can get very brutal due to the knees to the head wen the fighter is down , bit so can the ufc,.
the fighters in both are well trained and fierce competitors, i find pride a little slower, and the fights take longer sometimes, but there is no paucity of action.
Ufc on the other hand i have noticed has become very famous because of the reality show, THE ULTIMATER FIGHTER,
personally it is a treat to watch any of these programmes, i lover martial arts , and both ufc and pride are doing a great job at satiating my want for martial arts on tv

yeah i agree with you. ONly reason Ufc is not like that is ordinary to be sanction by the athletic committee in state to ordinary to fight there. back in the days UFC was like that. knee to the face or kick in the face when the guy is down but cant do that no more or else they cant fight in states that dont permit it.
i watch pride and do find it sometimes as slow and fight could be boring. but ilike what happen if the referree gives them two yellow cards. they get some of their purse taken away so it will make them fight unlike the UFC.

I like that 'octagon' style.. and the first UFCs were really nice. But Pride is better now, for sure. The best fighters are fighting in Pride, and you can not even compare UFC fighters to them. Pride is more brutal too.. and i like that ;D

As of now not even close. Pride dominates MMA world. There so many list of superstars, besides there where few UFC figthers went to Pride for while and wasn't as great as they were in the UFC. Also, Pride officals fines fighters if they are not showing any action in the ring which is interesting.

It depends what you mean by "better"... I think Pride has more skilled fighters OVERALL but I prefer to watch UFC because its more of a show etc and the crowd is more into it and the hype etc etc and I really like Joe Rogan's announcing etc. I just wish that they allowed the 3 point attack in the UFC. For non mma fans that means you are allowed to kick, knee, and stomp an opponent in the head while he is on the ground (1 knee or more touchin)
