Conspiracy against the Rangers

I have a personal belief that the NHL does not want the New York Rangers to win the Stanley Cup. Throughout their 2009 playoff appearance the zebras consistently made questionable calls after questionable calls. There were also a series of blatently obvious penalties that were not called at all. For example Danny Green slashed and proceeded to check sean avery from behind into the boards the ref saw the entire thing as the play took place literally 2 feet away from him yet did not even think about picking up his whistle. I dont care what offenses Avery has made in the past he`s a fantastic player and if the rangers had gone farther in the playoffs would more then likely be the mvp of the playoffs. there were plenty of other calls that refs missed but its gotten to the point where the NHL officials are not even hiding it well anymore. You would think they would want an original 6 team in the biggest market in sports to be victorious but much to mine and other ranger fans dismay they would rather detroit and the "blue collar" teams win. Im interested to hear other hockey fans thoughts on the subject islanders and flyers fans need not reply

i can understand your frustrations, especially if you are a rangers fan but the fact of the matter is the whistles go away come playoff time. Penguin fans were complaining of the officiating in games one and two. Detroit fans complained slightly in game 3. Becuase they put the whistles away fans tend to notice the missed calls more when it's their own team getting robbed of calls but the reality is every team gets away with things in the playoffs. The losing team has something to gripe about but it's not a concern.
