So, I was boiling water in a silver kettle... although due to my memory probs, i forgot about it and it burnt.. my mom really liked this pot lol and i had to clean it asap!! So if this happens to anyone, or if you just need to remove rust ffrom something here is what i did ... 1st, i dont have any SoS pads so i wasnt able touse these or i would. I'm sure a steel brush would have helped too, i didnt have any of these. 1st i soaked the pot with paper towels drenched in vinegar lol, this would take to long, so i cut a potatoe in half, dipped it in salt ( baking soda works too) and started scrubbing! I got almost all the brown rust off, and now there are just afew black spots left..i hope my mom doesnt notice!

wow that is amazing, I am going to try that next time I burn something, I do this quite often, the last pot I actually let rust out was an iron pot and a friend used a drill type of thing but if it happens again i will use the potato trick...thank you.
