I have been told time and again by many people that when you wish hard for something in your life it does come true. Do you believe in that? It has happened to me a couple of times. But I must say that it is because when you want something badly you tend to channelise all your activities and energies in that direction and sometimes it does work..So what do you all think? has something like that happened in your life or do you think it is just a coincidence when it happens? Friends share your own experiences and views...

Yes I do believe in positive thinking. Some say its the power of attraction. Attract what think and believe that it will happen and it will happen. It is the same as the Power of Intention. You intend something to happen in your life and it will come to you as you intended it. All in all it boils down to the power of positive thinking. I do believe in this things. It might be true that once you want something, all your energies are channeled towards that wanting and it might happen.

Yes and no. I'm a great believer in the law of attraction which was a principle I actually grew up on but was reintroduced to it all over again with the fame of The Secret book and DVD. One can dream, wish, think about ones goals, one can have a zillion vision boards, but just thinking it won't make it happen, one has to do some work for those dreams and goals....for instance a person may dream of being a successful world renown author, see themselves becoming rich, having the luxury home, cars, giving book signings...but without actually writing that book, it'll never happen--I make this example as I really WOULD like to become a successful author...I do have many short stories and have a few novels I on and off write in...my main problem is finding time...LOL

Dear friend,
I had been wishing very hard for last 2 years to be with my only daughter. Pleading in the court, but unfortunately I hardly get time to spend with my daughter. May be the hardest and most powerful wish I had made in my life is to be with my daughter for maximum time and now I mostly wish to take her to my home. But the unjustifiable law which has been thrown away in India by British rulers which is not suited to Indian culture is still hard to digest. As from a fathers side I am given less time to maintain a fatherly relationship with my daughter. I wish hard the law could be changed and those are my most hardest wishes.

Hi Shamrack, I agree with you that our law is ancient and sometimes very unfair. How old is your daughter ? Once she is 18 she will have the choice to be with whomsoever she wants to be with right? I am sure if you continue to be loving with her, she will reciprocate it ,and nothing can come in the way of that special bond between the two of you , I sincerely do hope that your wish comes true- All the best

I am a very pessimistic person and I guess the reason why I fail in most endeavors is because I invite negative energies by thinking negative almost all the time. Or could it be that because of too much pessimism, I fail to see the good things or blessings that has come my way?
I believe that for our dreams to come true, we have to wake up first and start doing something for that dream to come true. Wishing alone won't work. It must be coupled with hardwork and of course prayers.

Hi Theresaaiza, I see something very positive about you , and that is your accepting your pessimistic attitude.I also agree with your views that we need to work at them and dreaming alone is not enough - I think you are practical! Are you sure you are pessimistic ?

I don't think that just wishing will do the trick. Maybe a little pixie dust would help. just kidding. I think if you want something bad enough that you will focus your time and energy on it and then you can make it happen. You have to know to follow your heart as well...take risks. Recently, I helped the cops find and identify a group of kids that were stealing and cashing payroll checks. My workplace lost quite a bit of $ due to some being cashed there. That combined with the fact that I can emphasize with what a weeks pay being stolen would do to someone's life...I wanted these kids caught and stopped. Going on some pretty distorted pics...lo and behold...weeks later they gathered right outside my apt. One kid in particular stood out....sort of. I could of let it go but I got the plate# and phoned it in. 20 mins later...got a call back...I was right on. It still puzzles me as the kids involved don't live near my place at all....one doesn't even live in the same town or even close. I guess they just happened to know someone here and I was paying attention and acted on it. kinda weird.

Hi sid, thats a very interesting episode you mentioned . It sounds like such a convenient co incidence that the kids landed up close to where you live.
I agree with your views when you say that we tend to focus our time and energy on attaining our wishes and that it can make it happen.I too have felt it in many instances...Have a great day

I think a tmight of happened to more a couple of times, but I think that it's just a coincidence. I believe that you have to work hard, not just wish for your wishes to come true. If you work for it that means it was worth it. If you don't work for something you get then you didn't really do anything to get it. So it really wouldn't be worth anything to me.

I can't say that I have wished for something and actually got it. But since I started focussing on what I want my life to be, some would say my dream life, I have noticed things are slowly moving into place. This maybe down to the wish/dream theory or more likely becuase I am focussing so heavily on achieving this dream life that my actions either intentionally or unintentionally are making things happen.

Good things come to those who wait". I am still waiting though for some of them. But in good time when it is right for me it will happen. And we must learn to listen to our feelings.

I think that it is meant to make you actively chasing after the thing you desire. Just thinking hard on something will not change it... at least there is no evidence that it will work that way. But as you have pointed out, when you want something so badly that you will be doing all you can to get it which increase the chance you will finally get what you want.

Hi faisal, There are different opinions about mind power and its capacity to influence our whole way of life. When you wish for something badly you are also making up your mind to have it and that mental strength goads you on to heights you never think you are capable of...

Hi there kiran8! I think that saying that if you wish hard enough it will happen is not true. For me, for something you wish to really happen, you must strive for it and you must do your best to attain the happening you wish. You got to have perseverance to your doings to get your goal. Also, praying really helps if you have faith in God. Just try yourself and you everything will follow and just believe you can do the things you wish for. Well that's for my part kiran8. :)

positive thinking is the way to go. Also, I feel things happen for a reason. And maybe, because one has such a set thought process toward a certain subject, that it is only a matter of time before the situation is set into motion. I could tell i had been hoping and wishing about a boy friend of mine and it came true. the power of persuasion and consistency to better your wishes. But then again, every wish at 11:11 hasn't been made true yet. Thank you for this discussion, it fills me with hope

Hi thealli, Thanks a lot for your response and its a pleasure to know that the discussion has contributed in a positive manner and filled you with hope. Personally, I feel that there is no life without wishful thinking and hope. Whether it comes true or not is quite another matter, just to have that feeling is enough..

Whoever told you that was very very right! Yes, if you wish for something hard enough, it will eventually come true. It's all about your thoughts, just like you said. But not any kind of thoughts, only positive thoughts help you reach your goals.
If, for example, you keep thinking that you want that certain thing to happen, but you know it's just too hard and you may never accomplish it - that's the wrong type of focus! They're all just negative thoughts!
So just focusing a lot on you goals isn't the best way to reach them, you have to learn how to focus on your goals, too. That means positive thinking about them!
Instead of thinking about how hard it will be for you to accomplish that dream, think the opposite, don't discourage yourself! And do you actually expect your goals to come true if you say right from the start that it might never happen?
If you know about the law of attraction you should know what I'm saying...
No, it's not just a coincidence! Everything that happens to you is caused by your thoughts. Even if you realize it or not.

Wishing is just the first step. To really achieve your goal you have to work for it. It's not enough to just think that you will get it, you'd have to do something so that you'll get closer to what you want to achieve. Personally, I don't get what I want when I just think about getting it, I have to act so that I get to reach my goals.

Hi, i don t belive to much that if we want something so strongly, we will got it.
Positive thinking don t help all time, sometimes what we want don t depend only of us, life is so strange, and usual when we don t want something we will got it.
Any way, for me work very good this, when i don t think to much in something , i will got something, when i want strongly something, i never got it.

wishing is just like day dreaming.
so if you want something to happen in your life you should work for it. stick to a goal and pour all your energy to it. you will not go astray.
you believe me?
