"If he sticks with the chicken and O.J, he'll be fine" said our family Dr, referring to my then 5 year old boy, who had has concerned for not eating a variety of foods. "he gets all the ingredients he needs from those two". we were never completely convinced, but my son wouldn't touch anything else. no fruits, definitely no vegetables, and a very limited variety of dairy products, nothing else. When he finally discovered apples, we went to o the extreme of tricking him, introducing a zucchini pie to him and telling him it was apple pie. I could go on an on. So now he's 14, and gradually discovering new tastes, developing quite a gourmet tongue. the Joy! a non-parent will not understand, but yesterday he asked me to buy cream cheese with dill and chives, since he tasted it at friends and found it A-M-A-Z-I-N-G (quote). So how about your kids? would love to herar your experience.

I don't have any kids but I was such a fussy child! I hated fruit and veg, I liked chicken but not much else meat wise I wouldn't touch fish and I ate little dairy as well. My parents never really gave me crisps or chocolate but as I got older I developed a taste for food. I think perhaps it's something that you grow into. My parents used to do things like say I could have an ice lolly if i ate 3 mouthfuls of peas. And nowadays I eat most things! I can't eat dairy any more because I am allergic to it but apart from that the only things I won't eat are frankfurter sausages and peas.
