whys is it if you beat a person you're put in prison, yet if you beat an animal then you just get banned from keeping pets and maybe a fine??

I think that animals have little rights as far as how they are treated. In general they are thouoght of as property and owners really have to do something horrible to even draw attention to a bad situation. I think that there is more attention to this now, though and some changes have led to stronger punishments in areas where there are good animal rights agencies

The laws should definitly be changed when it comes to animal cruelty. Animals are no different from humans they breathe too. Maybe it should go to an eye for an eye and start chaining animal abusers up in the back yard while everyone beats them with a stick and refuse to feed them.

I think it is an unbalanced law..you kill your neighbors dog..you go to jail..you kill their cat..no one cares..at least in the state I live in...

cruelty towards animals these days has become very very bad and people are not punished in anyway what so ever .. i have seen a man hang about 20 chickens tied upside down to his scooter while he was driving them to the slaughterhouse .. it is becoz the penalty is so light that people are encouraged to do it more freely .. iv seen people throw stones at stray dogs .. why ? .. just because they dont like them standing in front of them .. people often forget that animals are a very very important part of our nature and they deserve as much respect as anything else .. we feel that the whole planet actually belongs to us .. and thats the reason why we have tampered with it so badly that we have put our own existence under jeopardy

i know that animal cruelty is wrong, just as human cruelty is wrong. let me tell you what happened in august of this year. we have a neighbor that has lived here for 6 months in our small trailor court,. they have a 8 month old pup. the owner has hit on the dog since day one. it took me 7 calls to get the humane society out her. they done nothing. I called for folow up and they told me to mind my own business that it was in their hands now. now the owner of the dog is letting the animal run loose again.(Landlord said dog was to be kept tied up and walked with lease). the dog has destroyed over 80.00 worth of lawn ornaments in our yard, and landlord wont do nothing.

because animals may not lodge an F.I.R. by its own & need a human to prove the crime alleged against them

I feel so. The law should be publicised so that people who commit such heinous act will change their heart at least by force. There should be separate enforcement authority for this purpose.

I think here it depends on what you do but the fine is about $10,000 and you can also be put in jail for i believe up to 5 or 10 years depending on what you do but then agian the law is not very well enforced in most places. I think i should just be infoced more.

There is human law and there is spiritual law, spiritual law can never be abused no matter where one hides!
