What I want to know is what is going to happen to the baby?

Regardless of how this girl got pregnant in prison, and the other poor decisions she made to get her there, the victim here will be the child.Pregnant British woman sentenced to life by Lao court for drug smuggling. I have no idea what happens to the baby. If I read the article correctly, it seems that a prisoner transfer to England is possible. If so, her fate might be considerably easier and access to her own child possible. It might be that she hoped to be up for parole or sentenced more lightly because a child was involved.

She truly was not thinking straight when she did this to herself, was she?
Normally I think the baby would be placed in foster care or given to a family member until the mom is released. But since she's in prison for life, who knows, probably adoption. That's my best guess anyways.
