This shot shows one of my strawberry plants and the fruit it bears. I have many, many plants and will be inundaunted with strawberries this year it seems. They are just starting to get red here in Minnesota. Right on time as most mine are June Bearers. Do you have strawberries growing? Are they reddening yet? How many do you have total?

No problems at all with slugs or birds etc yet in the 4 years I've had them. I do nothing to keep them off the ground. As you can see in the photo they are very strong standing plants.

I used to have a large garden with three long rows of strawberries which we "rotated." The hardest part was plucking all those blossoms the first year. I don't have any now, but nothing is so good or versatile as home-grown strawberries!
Here in MI they begin ripening this month! Yay!

I am from Michigan originally.
I have never plucked the blossoms actually.
And they've done well each year.
I have about 100 plants total I'd guess.
I thinned them oput some this year.
I will thin them more this fall after they're done for the season.

No I don't have any strawberrys growing. However I do have a orange tree with oranges growing on it. I do have seeds that I hven't planted these year either. Some tomato, some flowers...even sunflowers. I would love to see them come up.

That is wonderful to hear. I have never grown my own strawberries before but I sure love to go to pick them and eat them things too. I may try to grow some sometime in the future.

I just checked... both patches are producing but the one in back has larger berries. None are red yet. They're either green or white as the proverbial snow.

I wish I had your green thumb. I can barely grow a tomato. Enjoy the strawberries. I am a bit jealous. I have to go to the store to get mine!

How delicious! No strawbs here at the moment - we're going into winter soon - but we do have a few plants in one of the rockeries. The fruit don't last long, however, as my son picks them and eats them when he notices them. They are also under attack from slugs/snails! I was thinking I might plant some in my strawberry pot this year and put them on the patio.

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
There are all looking well and growing, you'll soon have plenty of strawberries, strawberries fields for ever.
